  • Delicious, decadent lamb meatballs smothered in mole. Good lord in heaven, please have these waiting at the pearly gates when it’s my time to go so that I may enjoy these in the afterlife cause these babies are to die for 🤤

  • @__just._.julia__ was talking about Seasonal Affective Disorder on their stories today it really resonated with me. Because I’m currently vitamin D deficient, my SAD feels enhanced. Regular, everyday stuff like just leaving the house or making phone calls is so much harder. I’m not putting this out there to complain, I just want to let anyone else who may be struggling with similar challenges know, you’re not alone, gorl*.
*By “gorl” I mean a familiar friend of any gender.

  • I was losing my eye sight rapidly when I was a boy. Doctors put me in special contacts to help slow down the process and finally my prescription plateaued around what is 3 times the limit for legally blind. Now I am an adult having multiple careers in entirely visual mediums. Perhaps my desire to create visually is psychologically fueled by my fear that I may never get to do it again. Perhaps I am drawn to shooting in the brightest most direct sunlight not as an aesthetic choice but because this is the light where I actually see the best. Perhaps my attraction to the most obscene colors and patterns is because they are the biggest fuck you to darkness. Perhaps this is all irrelevant. Perhaps your ability to is less important than how you decide to. (Style and shoot with @simonecomesalive) #35mm #portrait #shaggy #bangs #naturallight #eyesight #perspective #kodak #film #california

  • Our new kitty man 🐾

Meet Gentleman Bronco aka Boone aka Broncs aka Brutus. Yes, this man has only been with us 72hrs and he's already called a million things.
Last Wednesday I went to Northeast Animal Shelter to drop off my application to have it on file in case a cat came in that I thought would be a good fit for Tim and I. I had been looking at their website for a couple of weeks and saw a cat named "Angelo" who sounded perfect. "Angelo" was my grandfather's name and it means angel in Greek. I thought for sure it was a sign.
So, an adoption counselor gave me a handful of treats and put me in a room with Angelo and in another kennel was cat named Brutus. Angelo made no motion to come to me and actually fell asleep so I must have been quite boring to him. I decided to move over to the other kennel and say hello to Brutus. He was laying down in the corner and I just sat and talked to him. I threw in some treats and he made no movement to get them. I thought to myself, ok time to leave. When I got up Brutus started to eat the treats so I sat back down and started giving him some more. He eventually started to inch closer to me and I was able to pat his head. He looked up at me with those eyes and made the same scared face Ollie did and I knew I had to bring Tim over to meet him.
I left the shelter and texted Tim to see if he was up to meet yet again, another cat. Being the patient boyfriend that he is, he said sure and after he got out at 6 we drove right back to Northeast. We were able to sit with Brutus and he let me pat his head and give him chin rubs. He even fell asleep with my hand holding his head. I turned to Tim and smiled with tears in my eyes and said "I think we just imprinted" haha 😂 I told him they weren't sad tears but happy ones because I immediately got a gut feeling that this guy needed to come home with us.
We went and sat down with the adoption counselor to get his backstory. Poor Brutus was surrendered to his vets office when his owner went into a home. Sadly he lived in the vets office for 3mos. and got placed at NEAS the same week Ollie passed. (Cont. in comments)
