  • Finally starting to get back in the groove of things. Weight lifting with my trainer, (whom I might add is amazing! He's so ridiculously creative at finding ways to modify things so I can still do what I love, that works me good, but not over doing it whilst still recovering.) Followed by interval running, then relaxing in the sun!

To say last year was a setback is an understatement. Injuries, surgeries, stress, life....Having to start over is much harder than it seems. I found that finding balance between mental and physical health have been key. You need both to succeed, and need to work hard on both all the time. 
I got the push that I needed! I'm ready! Still have so much to do, but I can do it!! So excited for the journey!

  • Last week’s weigh in was absolutely terrible. I ate like shit the weekend before and I drank Bloody Mary’s with friends. I didn’t workout, I didn’t drink my water, and in turn I had the worst weigh in so far. Because of that, I was pissed at myself for slipping up. I told myself NEVER again will I allow myself to do that. Can I have a cheat meal? Yes. Can I drink adult beverages with friends? Sure. But then I have to put in the damn work to make up for it. After weigh ins last Tuesday I decided to buckle down and make sure there wasn’t room for slip ups. I busted ass, I ate completely on point (except for my cheat and crawfish 🤤), I drank 1.5 gallons of water a day, and I hit all my workouts plus some. Wanna know what happens when you trust the process and stick to the plan? You succeed. Today’s weigh in I was down 9.3lbs from last week’s weigh in. A total of 28.3lbs since I started with my trainer 9.5 weeks ago. 🙌🏼 It’s MF push time baby! We got goals to crush! 💪🏼

  • #SaunaThoughts: Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither was your body. Whatever way you’re trying to change your body, it will take time and you have to trust the process in between. It will be hard when you can’t see the changes. But keep going. 💚 PS: I struggle with this DAILY! I never feel like my body is changing even though everyone around me can see it. So you are not alone if that is where your mindset is right now. 😘

  • THIS! 💯 When I tell you I seriously did NOT want to workout today after I got off of work, I legit struggled to even put my workout clothes on. 😩 I wanted to fly out those doors and hurry up to go see my family and enjoy time with the ones from out of town. But I knew that I’m almost halfway through this fitness program and I can’t lose the momentum now. So I put on my big girl pants (well, workout tights 😂) laced up my bright red shoes, turned my hat backwards, and busted ass. Because EVERYTHING worth having is worth working for. 🙌🏼

  • Impromptu workout with my team today because most of us can’t make it to the Mid-Way workout tonight. Needless to say, the “500 Rep Challenge” our coach gave us was miserable. 😩😂 But we all got it done and now I’m going to celebrate with crawfish! 🙌🏼😍🦞

  • The ugly truth about parenting is that it’s extremely exhausting. And then there’s some nights where you only get about 2.5 hours of sleep because your baby wakes up with a nightmare or falls out of the bed. THAT is where my mind was this morning. I got zero sleep last night. I woke up from the little sleep I did get feeling drained and defeated. I needed sleep and coffee and carbs and energy something serious. I ALMOST didn’t go to my group workout with my team because I was going to take a day off but decided to pull my ass up off the couch, shake off my funky attitude, and go train. Parenting is hard. Real hard. But parenting while you’re NOT healthy, you’re overweight, and you don’t take care of yourself is even harder. Take care of YOU so that you can give your BEST SELF to your babies and your family. ❤️💪🏼

  • I’m working extremely too hard to miss a workout. So when I missed my team workout today AND missed team training this evening, I knew I needed to force myself to go to the gym. Spent the entire afternoon cleaning so needless to say I didn’t want to go. BUT I pushed myself in the door, made up my own HIIT workout, and burned a ton of calories. When you have goals, you push yourself to get to them. NO ONE else can reach your goals but YOU. 💪🏼🙌🏼

  • A little more about me. I’ve worked at a fitness center for almost 12 years. Yes. You read that correctly. I started at Crossgates Family Fitness almost 12 years ago. We have a 10 week weight loss program we run in the spring and the fall called Lighten Up. Can you believe that in the last 12 years I haven’t done the program AT ALL?! 😳 Well. After I was released in February to start working out again from my accident 7 months ago, I decided to get a personal trainer. BUT that’s not all. It also just so happened to be the EXACT time another Lighten Up session was starting! How lucky was I that not only was I able to jump on a team with some of my closest friends and coworkers, but my team coach is ALSO my personal trainer! 💁🏼‍♀️ She’s the cute little one in the black. 😂 How luck is she to get to spend almost every single day with me. Lol. So I present to you, “Jen’s Lucky Charms!” 🍀 We are missing two members in this picture, but this is who I spend every day at noon with and I am SO glad to have them as support and motivation through all of this. We are halfway through week 4 of 10 weeks and we are kicking some serious butt! 💪🏼❤️🙌🏼

  • Everyone has a starting point right?? Well, this was mine. 🤮 Back in July I got in to a car accident that caused me to not be able to workout anymore. I used to do CrossFit 4-5 times a week and did Team Training on the side. Last summer my life changed drastically, which cause A LOT of stress and changes to my mental health. Because of that I “let myself go” in the worst ways possible. That, on top of not being able to workout anymore caused me to gain almost 60lbs in 8months. Yes. You read that right. 7 MONTHS! 😧 Fast forward to February 2019. I was released to be able to start working out again after 7 long months. February 8th, 2019 I started working out with my personal trainer and boyyyyy has a lot changed since this picture. 😏 Stay tuned for the next couple of posts to see the “current” progress pictures! 💪🏼

And I am on a journey to health, happiness, and getting my sexy back. 😏 I have struggled with being very overweight my entire life and food has always, ALWAYS been my drug of choice. If I was feeling happy, I would eat to celebrate. If I was feeling sad, I would eat for comfort. Hanging with friends? Food food food! 😩 I have worked in a fitness facility for almost 12 years now in the childcare department, but never lived the “fit life” to the extent I should have. How can I motivate members if all I was doing was talking the talk and not walking the walk?! I will go into more details with each post I make to explain my life and my journey. The only way I can get through this is to be completely transparent to everyone around me so that THEY can hold me accountable as well! So, WELCOME to the journey that will pave the way to a better life for myself and my family! ❤️🙌🏼
