For 6 months I’ve almost exclusively pumped and this morning was my last for our little Carter bug. The last 6 months of breastfeeding (along with everything else motherhood) has been so completely incredibly wild. Never did I think I’d grow so attached to how we feed our child. Before Carter, people would ask if I planned to breastfeed and my answer was always “eh, we’ll see”. In the hospital they had me pump because his jaundice was so bad he couldn’t stay awake to nurse so pumping became our new normal with attempts to nurse mixed in. Everyone talks about the difficulties of pregnancy or labor but NO ONE speaks about the absolute poop show breastfeeding is. Like, as if the hormones your body is dealing with post partum isn’t wild enough, let’s throw this breastfeeding thing in there. The truth is; breastfeeding is hard and motherhood is hard. Mommas everywhere, you’re kicking butt and your baby loves you regardless of how you feed them ♥️

The babe was all over me this morning. & I was not complaining!
For ONCE she wanted her mama & it was just the cutest thing!
I did most of my workout during her nap but she woke up right before I finished.
Did I complain that she woke up before I was done?
Instead I was thankful that I could pause my trainer, go get her, & have her play right beside me. 🤗🤗
I was thankful I got to spend all morning with her before I headed to work all night.
But at the same time, making myself a priority!
Next bootcamp starts June 3rd! You’ll want to join this one 😜

All women who have made the journey into motherhood know that feeling of being forever changed. The transition into motherhood has sometimes felt like a runaway train but in the moments that I get to slow down I realize my transition from no longer just being the ‘daughter of’ and becoming the ‘mother to’ is really just a beautiful day by day metamorphosis. .

Shhhh 🤫 There are babies sleeping! Let me introduce you to Maisie and Olivia. These sweet girls are my first born, my miracles, and the answer to all my hopes and dreams. They’ve warmed my heart and tried my patience. They’ve made me laugh and they’ve made me cry. They’ve made me want to not miss a single moment and they’ve made me want to pack my suitcase and run away. 😂 They taught me to be patient, strong, and more then anything they taught me about sleep. Well, not them exactly, but all the sleep books I read before I had them because twins?! Twins?! Yeah, no. They’re going to need to sleep. Like, a lot. The best part? They did. From day one we began to instill healthy sleep habits allowing us to avoid sleep training all together. (Our success is why our Newborn Sleep Seminar is my favorite service we offer. When we understand the development of our babies’ sleep and we know how to adapt to their needs, we can teach our little ones not only how to sleep, but to love sleep!) With well rested twins on a predictable sleep schedule life was, dare I say it, easy? 😮 So easy in fact that we joked how fun it would be to have a second set of twins. (Be careful what you wish for folks because before we know it our second set was on the way. That’s a story for another #tbt though. 😉) These two are why I do what I do. Without sleep my life would not be possible. With well rested, well behaved kids the entire family can operate at their best making everything to running errands enjoyable. (Really! Target and the grocery store are two of my favorite places to take my kids.) What?! Yeah. Sleep can do some pretty magical things...making it possible to buy way more than what was on my shopping list at Target is just one of them. 😂 (Side note: these two are turning five in three weeks! 😭 ⏰💨) So where would you go with your kids if you knew they’d be on their best behavior? If you say Target, I’ll meet you there!

🌿 Breastfeeding not only provides the nutrients babies need but also feeds the heart, touches the soul and soothes fears and despair. It is something that divinely bonds the mother with her baby. ❤️ Just like Zane’s Mommy and little Zane in this fabulous photo @_zanesmommy_ ————————————————————
🌿Maintaining a healthy diet while nursing is one of the key necessities for successful breastfeeding.
In general, you can eat whatever appeals to you. The exceptions are foods to which you are allergic. For example, if your toddler has a peanut allergy, then avoid foods that contain that ingredient for the length of time that you breastfeed your new baby.
Maintaining a full milk supply requires extra calories, so eat regularly. Satisfy your hunger with nutritious meals and snacks. Eating raw vegetables and fresh fruits will not cause your baby to become fussy. Whey protein is good for breastfeeding mothers. After you make the cheese, the liquid that strains from the curds is whey. So you can can make your own whey protein drink at home.
Your breast milk provides excellent nutrition for your baby. This is true even when your diet is less than perfectly balanced. It is not necessary nor is it recommended to routinely supplement your baby with formula. However, you can supplement yourself by continuing to take your prenatal vitamins.
☘️ Do you have any suggestions for breastfeeding mommies?
This is super accurate to my day today! I ran around town all day to fill out papers and other things.. Also mom brain I thought there was daycare today, but there was not. So Sarah generously watched J this morning. .
Enzo unties his shoes, thanks to my mom 🙃. Yesterday Enzo turned 5 months old. As bitter sweet as my life is right now. I love each and every moment he spends with his GiGi. Time is moving at a quick pace, that’s the bitter part. The sweet part is watching him grow. This one already knows what he wants. He is already forming his own personality. He already has a great sense of humor. He will go out of his way to scoot down, just to kick my mom to laugh. He will tell his dad “no” and instantly laugh. Babies are way smarter than we think. He is my heart, my soul, and my life. Enzo, Mumma loves you more than to the moon and back. 💙 #momlife#sonappreciationpost#newmom#mylove
My new POST-PARTUM client: ‼"REZ - HELP ME OVERCOME MY FEAR OF GOING TO THE GYM"‼This one's for TRAINERS too 👇🏽
She explained that her FORMER trainer used to placed ⬆️⬆️ PRESSURE which ultimately SCARRED and DISCOURAGED her from going to the gym PERMANENTLY due to fear of being JUDGED by bystanders....‼WOW‼
Trainers: Please understand the difference between MOTIVATION and COMPLETE IGNORANCE (her trainer fits the latter category). ▪︎
1️⃣ Let's be clear - You DO NOT need to go to the gym. Can it help? Yep (mainly for equipment access). Is it essential? ‼HELLLSSS NO‼ There are so many ways to train now that you can literally do ANYTHING, ANYWHERE!
2️⃣ Unless you're THAT idiot taking SELFIES every 2 secs or "that GUY" on his phone HOGGING the bench/machine (ye I said guy INTENTIONALLY, cause it AIN'T the ladies doing that shit), I ASSURE you that people are NOT watching YOU and if they are, FUCK EM.
If you're ever EVALUATING a TRAINER, I encourage you to not only assess them for their SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE but also for their PERSONALITY. Both of those gotta go hand-in-hand in order to develop a SUSTAINABLE LONG TERM relationship!
But if you're still not sold and want a HOME-WORKOUT PLAN, you know what to do! 👇🏽 or 📬
Happy Thursday!!!!🌸Another wonderful day to celebrate wonderful Mamas and their even more wonderful little ones...
These baby steps 🦶 (Ha-get it?) are necessary in order to complete a successful first breastfeeding. 🤱
Within this first hour (or more depending on the mama baby pair)--- your baby will go through 9 recognizable phases while 'skin to skin' with their mother. ✨ •
What are the Phases❓❓
1️⃣The Birth Cry: This is where your baby's lungs will expand and let out their first cry.
2️⃣Relaxation: When your baby looks happy as can be---snuggled on Mama's chest with minimal movement.
3️⃣Awakening: This will occur approximately 3 minutes after birth. At this time, your baby will show little movements.
4️⃣Activity: This will occur approximately 8 minutes after birth. Your baby will begin mouthing, suckling, rooting, looking at mom, massaging the breast, and kneeing mom's uterus. These are all stimulating actions for both milk production and letdown.
5️⃣Rest: When your baby appears to be at rest. This may occur throughout all stages.
6️⃣Crawling/sliding: This will occur approximately 35 minutes after birth. Your baby will reach mom's breast and continue with stimulation.
7️⃣Familiarization: This will occur approximately 40 minutes after birth. Your baby will continue to massage the breast and begin to lick the nipple, make sounds, and look at Mama. This may last for approximately 20 minutes until the first feeding occurs.
8️⃣Suckling: This will occur approximately ~60 minutes after birth. Your baby will self attach at this time. The first 'breastfeeding' may last for ~40-90 minutes. Because your baby will be so 'new,' this first latch will (most likely) not be perfect and will produce only a few drops of breastmilk.
9️⃣Sleeping: This will occur after the baby has completed their first feeding (around 1 1/2-2 hours after birth). •

Mama's Mini Onesie, Pair this with one of my headbands available in my shop - www.etsy.com/shop/julesboutiquellc
#firstmonth#primermes#newborn #reciennacido#maternar#newmom#naceunamama

Mamas...remember that second or third night after you bring your newborn home? And it's 3am and they're screaming in your face because they're hungry and lonely; they need cuddling and coddling and your full attention, even though you're looking into their eyes, exhausted and teary, saying "I know, I know. But I'm doing everything I can." Remember that? 👶 .
That's where my newborn business is at. It's screaming for attention, it wants content and time and passion lavished upon it...and here I am going "I'm doing as much as I can! I'm sorry!"
Who feels me on this one?? 🙋
Being a parent is hard. Being an entrepreneur is hard. Being both is really hard. ...But also pretty similar. With love and nourishment, both "babies" will grow and flourish. And there will be crap days and weeks where you don't understand each other or where your strategies just aren't working. But there will also be amazing days where you see a breakthrough that blows your mind. And on the tough days, you just have to remember you wanted this...it's worth it...no one said it would be easy...there's no instruction manual that's going to work for everyone...and tomorrow will be a better day.
Mamas. Mompreneurs. Hang in there. Love even though you're tired. Nourish even though you're depleted. We're going to make it through. ♥️
My first instinct as a new mom was to pull that grass out of her mouth and say “icky!” But then I thought back to all of the times growing up that we kids would walk around with grass hanging out of our mouths (that’s probably a Midwest thing), and I couldn’t help but smile.
