The beautiful Leifeng Pagoda is located south of the Westlake 西湖 in Hangzhou 杭州. It was originally built in 975, but had to be rebuilt as it had collapsed in 1924. The reason behind this tragic event? People believed that the bricks of the pagoda could repel illness, so they gradually disappeared! 😑 The Zhejiang Provincial Museum has two rooms dedicated to the history and the archeological discoveries around the pagoda. It is worth visiting!
