  • You know what I used to always fear.. going out to eat. 🥙 now I freaking love it. 🤩

I was so consumed with restricting calories, not always knowing what was in every dish of food I ate & this would either lead to me not going out to eat at all, or binging hard on everything.

I missed out on some good ass times & memories over fears, stress and anxiety associated with trying to “stay on track” but still enjoy myself.

I’m sure some of you can resonate with this. Maybe not to the extreme I was at, but when it comes to stress and eating meals out.

If you fear a night of fun with friends is going to throw you off track or make you lose progress, I can reassure you this is NOT the case!

It took me a long time to realize this, but after making health and fitness a lifestyle, I’ve found that you can still enjoy yourself & stay on track!

  • It was raining when I got home from work, which is when I go out for my runs. So... I decided I wasn’t going out tonight and was going to work on some other stuff... but after I ate dinner, I noticed it was no longer raining... so I cleaned the kitchen and laced up and went outside. I didn’t run bc I had just eaten and I am NOT one of those people that can eat and then run! 🤢... but I got a beautiful and peaceful 3 mile walk in tonight!   • My Mondays are usually spent at our kids’ school, sitting in on their Suzuki lessons and doing my best to follow along with them as they learn to play the cello and violin. (I accepted long ago that my strengths were more athletic than musical, but I try to keep up 😩.) However... today’s lessons were canceled and I was left with some free time to play with some poses I had bookmarked to try. This, I guess, is a #fallendancervariation and it incorporates my least favorite kind of backbend - the belly down (or worse yet, chest down) backbend! Deep breaths are always a struggle for me in shapes like these. This was one of my first “successful” attempts! #natarajasana #teekigram

  • I found this magazine, and while I was looking through it, i realized i was going to make every single dish inside. 
Think I’m kidding? Nope. I love good food. I hate boring food. 
And my meals need to be in the 400 to 500 calorie range depending on my workout day. 
Today’s meal was “Zucchini Noodles with Spicy Peanut Sauce” from page 47. I used one 8 oz chicken breast instead of tofu. No tofu in this house. Nope! I bought a Veggetti Spiral vegetable cutter (love that thing!!) to make these long ribbons from squash and zucchini. This was a cold dish, salad like. It gets a big thumbs up from me, because I love spicy, with a touch of sweet and a little acidity. I would make this again. About 500 calories for the serving. And it’s a lot of food! Absolutely delicious. I have “Pork Chile Verde” from page 8 I will share tomorrow. It was a crockpot recipe. It made the house smell incredible. 
And... I went to the gym today. I know... I have been lax on updates but I have had my reasons. I lost my heart dog and it has taken me some time to mourn. I am still not adjusted. And my other sweet dog got hurt and I freaked out. But she is doing well and acting normal again. Overall.. I am trying to get back into the swing of things.   • So after crushing my leg workout tonight brilliant me decides ok let’s push the cardio!!! Usually I do an hour at 2.5 speed and 6.0 incline. With only 5 weeks left in this challenge I need to get rid of the rest of this flab. I started with my normal settings on the treadmill and kept the speed the same but bumped up the incline every 15 mins by .5. Wow my body is feeling the difference between yesterday’s cardio and today’s. I welcome comments and suggestions .

  • Squat challenge Day 1/100✅. I was already pretty sore from a previous leg day, so I figured I might as well start off sore so I build up my mental toughness as soon as possible. I only had 25 minutes to workout before training a couple of clients, so squats was all I did for the workout. I am going to measure my legs tomorrow and do it again at the end of the 100 days for comparison 💪🏽.

  • All successful people have one thing in common: they are adaptable. Whether that means I need to be the first one in the gym or the last one in the gym, I will always structure my day around my workout. It is the critical component that remains constant on a daily basis. It was a hard adjustment today to an evening workout, I’ve been loving my 5am lifts. But, you do what you have to. -

You need to be adaptable to be successful. I see a lot of people fail with their fitness goals, “I can’t workout in the mornings”. “I can’t stop drinking alcohol.” “I can’t find the time to workout.” These people lack the WILLINGNESS to adapt. And it’s a shame, because they’ll never reach what they’re truly capable of. #Adaptability #Success #NoExcuses #GetItDone

I gained 45 lbs. throughout my pregnancy. Couldn't tell, could you?  The number doesn't bother me though because I couldn't have imagined a better pregnancy, labor or delivery.  I'm blessed and thankful every day for such a strong body, a very happy healthy baby boy and of course, Aaron since Day 1. . .

Arbonne's 28 Day Challenge is way beyond weight loss. Not only have I lost 40 of the 45 lbs. but my mentality has changed. I've developed a strength greater than I could ever imagine. My motivation to do better and be better increases daily.  I wake up every morning to Axel and Aaron and know MY WHY is so much bigger than MY EXCUSES. I'm learning to live confidently in this new body of mine and I'm reminded every day by Aaron who tells me I look beautiful and sexy. I'm growing as a woman, mother and girlfriend proud of everything we've been through and where we are headed. . .

For so long I held onto a myriad of excuses as to why I couldn’t workout at home. The kids were home, I wouldn’t have the motivation, I didn’t have any weights, i wanted privacy, it wouldn’t be as effective as the gym.
.
Well I can tell you this - I have pushed myself harder at home than I ever did at the gym (minus the time I had a personal trainer but that shit is expensive). I have more drive & motivation being part of an online community, especially on those days I don’t feel like pressing play. I have FINALLY learned about healthy eating which i can live with. And FOR SURE I’ve never been as committed and consistent with my workouts as I have been working out at home.

Its funny to look back at what stopped me and to see how they are now the things I appreciate the MOST! I workout with my kids home, I have more motivation, I’ve got the weights (tucked under the couch), and I have better results than I ever did at the gym.

  • Yesterday morning, I was struggling to get dressed because of an ongoing hand/arm/wrist injury and I had a moment. I broke down in tears for a matter of seconds before I heard my own voice tell me shit could be worse.

At 5 am, as I found a way to dress myself in what used to be a quick ordeal, I took my time and told myself no matter what I was feeling, I needed to walk out that door and start my day.
⠀⠀
I’m a firm believer that our thoughts create our reality. I have days where I wonder if what I envision will come to fruition or when I’ll get use of my right arm/hand back. I’m quick to replace those questions with positive answers. Focus comes into play. I tell myself to think positive and that regardless of what I’m dealing with, all the things that I needed to do still needed to get done, hand injury or not.

As I get older, I realize how little emotion will help me to get to where I need to go. Not to say emotions are useless, I just believe there’s a time and place. I turn up my logic and that’s what helps me through what may seem like challenging times.

As we enter into this new week, I’m reminded of the new days, hours and minutes I have to be that much closer to my pursuits.

It’s ok to feel down but know when it’s time to turn that ish off and get to work. There are so many opportunities waiting for us to come cease them. Let’s not let our setbacks be the reason we stay in the same place the next year. #mondaymotivation

    As I get older, I realize how little emotion will help me to get to where I need to go. Not to say emotions are useless, I just believe there’s a time and place. I turn up my logic and that’s what helps me through what may seem like challenging times.

    As we enter into this new week, I’m reminded of the new days, hours and minutes I have to be that much closer to my pursuits.

    It’s ok to feel down but know when it’s time to turn that ish off and get to work. There are so many opportunities waiting for us to come cease them. Let’s not let our setbacks be the reason we stay in the same place the next year. #mondaymotivation
