There is a major difference between a TORTOISE and a TURTLE! One being tortoises do not live in the water hence why they have feet and not flippers (or webbed feet)! So please don’t try to put one in the ocean even if your heart is in the right place ❤️ (key point look at their feet before trying to save one!)

“I saved a gopher tortoise I found floating at least a half mile offshore in the gulf! ❤️Tortoises can’t swim so I wonder how this one got out there?!? At first I thought it was a sea turtle and I was so excited 😍 but as I approached it, I was surprised it didn’t go under, just kept floating. Then I saw that it had legs and claws, not flippers and I realized it was a tortoise in the wrong place and probably in great danger ❤️ I made the decision to bring it to shore. As I sat on my board he kinda floated to me, so I gently picked him up and placed him on my board. He was such a chiller 😎 he sat and enjoyed the paddle back to shore 🥰 I carried him to the sea grass and set him free 🤗 I love how his little legs kept walking in the air as I carried him 😂😍 I hope he’ll stay safe 🙏❤️🥰 what an amazing day on the water 😘🌊☀️
Please enjoy Mother Nature 🌎with great love and respect for her creatures 🙏💛”

A Sea Turtle is a true survivor, and in a few weeks this title will be challenged once again when the Great Barrier Reef Green Turtle population will have to reproduce against all odds of the ever changing climate !

An orca giving a very close inspection! 😮 whose jealous? What would your reaction be?⠀

"This encounter is one of the luckiest I have ever had - seeing a killer whale in clear blue water in the open ocean is extremely rare. We didn’t really know how they were going to respond to us, and given they were transient / Biggs killer whales (the type that eat either large fish or marine mammals) we were a tad apprehensive about getting in the water with them..! After the pod had crashed past us at around 10-12kts, this youngster started to really interact with us - an experience I will never forget!! Turn the sound on to hear the beautiful vocalisations the orca was making" 🐳⠀

This is the first photo we made after arriving on Mantaray Island. This incredibly beautiful ‘bounty-like’ island is part of the Yasawa Islands, which hopefully brings us a meeting with the amazing manta rays. We have our GoPro and snorkeling gear ready, so fingers crossed 🤞. More to come!
