This little cabin gives me all the make-homemade-soup-and-bread, drink-hot-tea, curl-up-with-a-book-and-blanket, and forget-the-world-feels. How about you?

Woweeeee thank you so much to everyone who shared about the Creative Retreat and those of you who requested more info! We have nearly SIXTY (😳) on the list already and it’s been less than 24 hours since I announced! Once the event details are finalized I will send out an email to everyone on the list and they’ll get first dibs on registration. I’ll only announce it on here if tickets happen to still be available. The catch is we only have 25 spots for the retreat so I highly recommend just getting on the list if you’re thinking about it! DM me your email to do so 💌 (p.s. I hid the name because this piece won’t be gifted for a long while!)

On cold, blustery days like this one we’re having in the mitten, one can’t help but dream of warmer days.
I think back to my ascension of the Crack in Killarney, walking upon the white Quartzite of the La Cloche Mountains. Rising above the erupting autumnal splendor that we experience here in the upper Great Lakes, my hair was whisked and whipped in the rushes of wind racing across Georgian Bay. Ominous clouds danced across the sky, bringing the scent of rain from the distance. And a myriad of ancient mountain lakes lay beneath me, calling to be explored. I spent at least an hour alone, with Farley, atop this summit next to that lonely windswept pine, soaking it all in before I made my way back to camp.
It was right before I made it back to my car that the heavens opened up in a downpour. Lasting only as long as it took for me to drive back to camp and then the sun returned to grace this northern forest.
And if you’re wondering, yes I plan on taking another trip to this heaven on earth. #killarneyprovincialpark#getoutside#sky#neverstopexploring#greatlakeslocals#greatlakesproud#travelontario#ontario

I realized today that it's been just over a year since I posted this image, and almost 2 years since I took it. 🌲
Sometime between 5:30 and 6am I was freezing cold in a tent and could not sleep anymore, so I got up, made the fire and warmed up a bit before I walked down to the water, luckily with my camera in hand. I am not a morning person and even though I know some of the best shots happen in those early hours I don't usually make it, so getting to photograph the still, early morning lake was really special. I got to watch the fog lift and this scene come to life. ☀️
This photo sat in my computer untouched for almost a year, because I didn't think it was anything special, until one day I got inspired to play with the edit (after binge watching a ton of @petermckinnon vids) which used to scare me bc I had it in my head that good or 'real' photographers shouldn't do much to their photos, it should just be perfect in camera. I completely forgot that it's art, and I've never been the type of artist to know what the finished piece will look like when I start. Finishing this photo felt like a massive shift from that mind set and it's really made a massive difference in how I create.
All this to say, thank you for the love on this one. It was never one I expected to be a favourite, but I'm happily surprised and really proud of it. Thank you so so much. 💙
This 'best seller' and lots of others are available as prints if you'd like one of your own! Link is in my bio. You also just might find it hanging in @creambeanerycafe in Mt Brydges! Swipe to see the original.
It's so cold in the training solarium tonight that I had to wear a jacket and wool hat to warm up for tonight's race with @cvrcade. Had a great race battling extremely hard work over other rider. I wound up pushing myself a little past my limit and could not compete as hard as I wanted to on the last race of the evening due to some pretty terrible cramps. On the bright side I was able to push myself past my 10km race barrier where I would stay off during then fade before it ended. Just a little more endurance to build up and I will be a serious podium contender when it counts.
Toronto! I am still shocked we made this show happen after the craziness at the border this morning. We barely made it to the venue in time. Crazy day. And the show was the best Canadian show we’ve ever experienced, thank you! Also, we just found out “My Type” went platinum in Canada 🇨🇦 🤯⚡️
