Yesterday was #restday and I'm glad I listened to my body... woke up feeling good ... Today's workout was15 mins #cardio followed by two rounds of Day 5 of a total body workout app and then one round of Day 3 of a belly blaster app 😜 #feelingstrong 💪🏼 and did this on the first day of my #period ... For anyone out there who thinks you can't workout #onyourperiod ... #youcan ... Just #listentoyourbody and change the tempo and intensity of the workout accordingly ...

#day25 of #FireUpFebruary is a pose I keep practicing even though it doesn’t get easier! #upavishtakonasana is particularly challenging for my hips, but this variation, which uses a block (or bolder if you want something softer) and the wall, can help support the spine, soften tension in the hips, and create space in the pelvis. This is great during #pms or while #onyourperiod and #prenatalyoga folks might find it rejuvenating. Stay 30-60 seconds, or as long as you like. .

Upavishta Konasana Supported Wide Angle Pose
Place one block on its shortest end against a wall. Sit on the block, pressing hips into block and lengthening spine against wall. One leg at a time, extend legs out to the right and left. Press heels away from hips, and point toes toward ceiling. Rest arms wherever comfortable, on thighs or lap, or on belly. Close eyes, and breathe deeply. Rest in this pose as long as you like. To come out of posture, use arms behind thighs to lift legs and bend knees, bringing soles of feet to floor.

  • #nottheprettiestpost but I thought this was important to share because I have #girls (and I know lots of girls!)We still don’t talk about #periods and #bleeding enough. It’s almost as taboo as #itwasinmyday (#thelate80s) It shouldn’t be embarrassing but it is. Schools are a bit rubbish at letting girls know it’s ok to be #onyourperiod and where to go if you need advise/help/or products while you’re at school, and supermarkets in the UK are way behind Europe in their selection of biodegradable sanitary products. So, if you want to help change the way we do #theblob (or get your girls off to an environmentally friendly start) this company is great. Organic, biodegradable, cotton products that come in biodegradable wrapping and packaging and available on subscription (so no one knows your buying them!) it’s more expensive of course which is a shame (it should be subsidised by the government I think). ....Also, if this lot can do environmentally friendly postal packs, why can’t amazon?
