Condicionei o cabelo.

Today my parents and I got together with our distant Irish family for a “small breakfast gathering”. 30+ people showed up to meet us and try to puzzle out our families connection! It was overwhelming but also one of the best mornings I’ve had here. People are beautiful, particularly in their pursuit of connection••

This bad luck week just won't leave! Last night Apollo vomited around 4am or so, but because he's a monster, he immediately gobbled it back up and we couldn't even see what he vomited. We took him out and then put him back to bed, where he started whining until Liam let him out in the living room. Where he vomited again, but this time Liam could catch him. Looked like a lot of mulch. That was several hours ago, and he's eaten a full breakfast now so I guess he's fine? I don't even know where he got that much mulch because he's hardly been outside since his laws are injured. He sometimes sneaks it in after a bathroom break, so I guess we missed him carry it in... Ugh.

Haven’t been able to get out with the camera in ages so here is another old shot of the turnpike bridge 😆
Fontana Village - originally we were going to resupply for the Smoky’s here, but after a current thruhiker’s wife (who was doing trail magic at Stecoah Gap) told us that the resupply in Robbinsville would have an actual grocery store, we took a ride down there from Stecoah to fill up. Ended up way overpacking, and probably won’t need to resupply again until Hot Springs (8 days of food) 😂 Happy stomach, angry feet.
PART 1 OF ERINS STORY!
If you had told me when I was 10 years old that one day rock climbing would be my entire life, I never would have believed you. I was 10 when I got my first taste of climbing, taking youth classes at my local, tiny gym. The class was mainly made up of boys who were older than me and one other girl. I never really thought about it until I was older, how male-dominated the climbing community is. I only remember trying to keep up and climb as hard as the boys. They taught us the basics -- how to belay, what holds were called, how to use our feet a little better, etc. After that, my parents decided I should do team sports like softball instead, so I climbed on and off for years until I could drive myself to the gym and pay for it on my own. I started consistently climbing five years ago, which is when I bought my first chalkbag, first harness, and first pair of shoes. I was climbing 2-3 times a week, and the community at the gym was tight-knit. With how small our location was, it was hard to not know everybody else who climbed and worked there.
Three years ago, I got the opportunity to work for that gym (@cragfranklin, which has now expanded to @cragnashville 😄). Not everybody has the chance to be able to do the one thing they've been passionate about since they were a child (I job shadowed my boss when I was in high school!), and I'm always grateful that I get to be one of those people. I love introducing newcomers to the sport, and I love getting to set the routes and get feedback from climbers. It's become a creative outlet for me as well as a physical one, and for me it's cool that I get to help push women forward in climbing both as both a hobby and as a career. #talkchalky #talkchalkytome #climbing #bouldering #toprope #chalkbags #outdoorclimbing #optoutside #outdooradventures #climberscommunity #liveclimbrepeat #shareyourclimbingstory #climbingworldwide #climbing_is_my_life #climbinginspiration #climbingnation #climbinglife #climbon #girlswhoclimb #womenwhoclimb
