THIS IS 2 POSTS LONG!!! YOU GUYS ARE SAINTS IF YOU READ ALL OF IT🙏🏽
Recently, very recently, I wrote out a post in my notes declaring that I was swearing off social media. I hated what it did to me, what I let it do to me. I thought that was what was needed to be done; just get rid of all of it. Something stopped me though. I noticed my growth in photography as I was scrolling through my past posts. I noticed other people are sharing my photos and getting inspiration from them.
Then, as I was traveling this past weekend, I realized the answer was not for me to just run away from social media, like I do with everything else, but to change my demeanor about it and on my accounts. My fiancé and I spent hours and hours discussing what we could do to better ourselves as we are about to start the biggest adventure of our lives together. We came to the realization that people are going to be looking at us, following us, looking up to us as we embark on moving into missions in the near future. Uh, REALITY CHECK!
We don’t see ourselves as leaders, as people to look up to. But we soon figured out, we really are. And we are supposed to be where we are right now. We decided that together, we would begin to prepare, meditate, and better ourselves as we are in this season of our lives.
Not only are we going to start bettering ourselves and growing together, we also realized, we need to have time to ourselves. We still need our intimate alone time with God. Yes, we are to grow together, but also we need to grow as our own self and continue growing our personal relationships with our Creator in our own space and quiet time.
I’m sharing this, not only to try and encourage someone out there to do the same in their lives, but to keep myself accountable.
My instagram will be shifting gears instead of me running away and deleting my entire account. I will be showing more of my face in my stories as I share, once a week, things that God’s doing not only in my life, but those around me. This account is an outlet, an opportunity, to make a difference in the season of life I am in right now.

To feel at peace is to immerse yourself in nature. Wheather that's just walking through the forest or discovering the waterfall. The world becomes more clear when your alone surrounded by the beauty of nature. Do what makes you happy!
"Keep close to Nature's heart... and break clear away, once in awhile, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean." ― John Muir ❤
'wash your spirit clean.’ Sounds like good advice you could use in regard to an elopement, doesn’t it? 😉
Not everything is as it appears to be. If you are capable of squeezing through one hole you find the next is too small to escape. My point is simple. Maintain your wits, keep your senses on high alert and your eyes wide open before you JUMP DOWN into that proverbial RABBIT HOLE. I am finding it harder by the day to trust people in general as to the words that flow from their mouths, especially when it comes to our GOVERNMENT. I have put "TRUST but VERIFY" into my daily life lately and I highly recommend you do the same.
There is just too much going wrong and people in this country for the most part just do not seem to give a "F" one way or the other; making statements such as, " if it doesn't affect me, I'm not going to worry about it". NEWS flash, you may not think our government has an impact of affect on your life now, but if some people have their way, you will not like the end result. Rule of law must be followed and our government must be held to the highest standards of professionalism in all aspects of their political and personal lives if they are to be our leaders. Think about it. Do you want your kids, the future of this country to learn and believe it's okay to talk nasty, ugly and disrespectful to others just because they do not think, look or act as they do. Do you want them to think its okay to cheat, steal and destroy other people because they do not agree with them. Do you want your kids to become subserviant and blindly follow others that are morally, ethically and personally corrupt in more ways then we could list. We need to bring back those basic life values of common decency and respect for all, including this planet. #rabbithole#trustyourgut#trustbutverify ❗️ #exploreoregon#oregon#oregoncoast#keeporegongreen#rockyshoreline#pnw#pacificnorthwest#ourplayground#pacificocean#bluewater#oregonexplored#oregonbeachesarethebest#oregonbeaches#thepeoplescoast
I feel most at peace when I'm trekking through the vast forest. I've had Spencer on my back hiking since he was four months old. Something about when he turned five years old, he started to dislike hiking. (I think his physical development made his body ache??) I was bummed! Invieibilty, we reduced hiking to about once a season. His complaints were annoying, and I wasn't about to carry him!! Recently, to my surprise, he is back to enjoying nature and our last three hikes we did were awesome! We explored a cave, waterfalls, counted rings on a fallen tree and found tons of mushrooms! (I know nothing about mushrooms, so we just looked) These two trails were off HWY 20 and easy hikes for families!

...The best anti-depressant, anti-anxiety, long-term prescription for happiness a person could ever find...
...She also craps more than she eats and always more times than I have bags within the first quarter mile of every trail, but oh well, we can’t be perfect...

“The path from dreams to success does exist. May you have the vision to find it, the courage to get on to it, and the perseverance to follow it.” Kalpana Chawla
The Redwoods are humbling. I try to imagine what they’ve seen and heard and endured in their many years. Standing still in the middle I hear the woods breathe. It’s quiet like no other and at the same time, filled with a downplayed cacophony of those that call these woods home. Just filling up my lungs with the sweet scent of life refreshes me like an entire night slept uninterrupted.

The day before this the lake was all socked in, you couldn’t see the mountains and could barely make out the water. When we woke up the next day the skies were clear, but we almost made the call not to go back to the lake. That would have been a bad call...
