Swipe for behind the scenes on how I got these pictures.
Writing, of any kind, can be a gift or it can be a skill that you have to devolve and work hard on. But unlike most other learned skills, writing has what I call "the freedom of no wrong" Which basically means, no matter what you write (within reason) and if you follow the basic guidelines (such as grammar) you will have a crowd. Somewhere in the world, there is someone who writes like you/reads the kind of things you write/can respect your work.
Writing has its set laws, it has its tools for betterment, but it is also a free space. And that space is for you. For you to grow, to express yourself, writing is your space.
Consider a tree for a moment. As beautiful as trees are to look at, we don't see what goes on inside of them - as they grow big. It requires coordinated efforts of the piths, heartwood, sapwood and cambium. Trees must develop these inner layers in order to grow strong and produce their beauty. But we don't see them. We just see and enjoy the beauty. In much the same way, what goes on inside of us is like these inner layers. We are formed by what's inside of us.
