  • Who of you already have been to New Zealand? And who would love to go there some day? 😍 I can truly say: it’s absolutely worth it for every nature and water lover! ❤️🏄🏼‍♀️🙌🏻 There are so many wonderful lakes and incredible fiords you can paddle on. 🤠 And also the ocean is waiting with many surf and SUP-surf spots along the coastline. 🌊 This picture was taken at Milford Sound - a fiord that dreams are made of. 💕 You are paddling surrounded by huuuge mountains and a breathtaking green landscape. I felt so small when I was SUPing on my tiny board along these giants. 🏔 So if you ever get the chance to go there: do it! ❤️ Even when the way is long. A trip to New Zealand without visiting Milford Sound would miss so much. 🙌🏻

  • 🌱fLoW🍁 Everything is always changing. From a single cell in our bodies to the entire universe. Subatomic particles are constantly rising and passing away. Leaves on a tree grow and die and fall to the ground. Humans are born, grow up, live long (or sometimes short) lives and then pass away. .

I use to be so reactive to all of life’s changes. Anything from getting a ding in my new surfboard to feeling like I always had to say something back when someone hurt my feelings. .

I haven’t always been able to ride “the wave of life”. I use to always fall off or even worse jump off. I was constantly getting derailed by circumstances and emotions and quitting when I felt the slightest bit of resistance. .

In surfing, you flow with what the wave allows moment to moment. If it becomes hollow, you gain access to getting barreled. If it walls up, you are presented with the opportunity to turn.
.

I’m steadily learning how to live my life more like riding a wave, with more flexibility, adaptability and flow. Every moment, I am presented with the opportunity to resist reality or embrace it, from grey hairs to feelings of anger to traffic jams. .

I’ve heard it said that acceptance is the answer to all my “problems”. After accepting reality, I can then move forward. I can observe the reality that I’m growing grey hairs and decide if I want to do anything about it. I can observe the tension I feel in my body when I’m angry and choose what I will do with it. I can accept that I’m stuck in traffic and choose whether I’ll think negatively and be upset or redirect my thoughts to more positive ones.
.

If you are interested in more flow and less resistance, then join @jenmckinn and I on March 14th for our 1 day women’s retreat! The Balancing Point Day Retreat will include yin style yoga, meditation, vegetarian cuisine, a workshop and paddle boarding. Click on the link in my bio to learn more and sign up! ✨

  • Upgrade time!! As promised, a quick feature about my new wheels.

I wanted to add wheels to my big bin for a long time and was happy to find a set of training wheels at a local thrift shop. I drilled a couple holes in the sides of the bin, put a couple small bolts through, put the wheels on the outside, secured with a locking nut, and used a rope I found as the handle...and voila! I can now roll my trash around!! (You may notice the video shows some palm trees...yep, I was in Florida for a quick visit, full post coming soon!)
