One of the best Pakistani movies. Spontaneous! Gets you in the groove very quickly. Total span of 1 hour and 30 minutes to be precise. No excessive drag. No typical Bollywood Lollywood songs, heartbreaks or anything. Acting is sooooo on point. No one looks like they are underperforming or over performing. Storyline is very simple yet catchy. There are not many twists i.e in a way it looks like a hollywood plot. One thing I still don't like in Pakistani cinema is too much close up shots. Although in this film, they are very necessary because the film relies on expressions more than dialogue. We still have a long way to go to reach the level of Raman Raghav 2.0 or Gangs of Wasseypur or any of Anurag Kashyep's movies but we'll get there. What I am very happy about it is that an Adult Rated film is made thoughtfully and they kept just the right amount of A Rated Content. Only one thing that I am not so proud of is the ending. It could have been lot better. The characters shifted very quickly. There could have been few scenes here and there to show the transition but the goal, probably, was to hit the audience right at the time when they are in that intense zone. All in all, a very good movie! I had high expectations from this and it gave me much more than my expectations. Also please don't focus on the trailer! I am very disappointed that the trailer does not do any justice to the film. Usually we see trailers of the movies which include all the essential parts of the main storyline whereas Laal Kabootar couldn't do that. Its not the story which is impressive. Its not even the plot, which is kind of ordinary. The main thing is "the package". Idk who the director is but trust me this director can be our Anurag Kashyep in the future if we provide him the right plot. Anyways, Sherdil (which is doing more than it deserves, on box office) and Project Ghazi can't come anywhere near this beauty i.e LAAL KABOOTAR. Imdb rating says 8.1 for Laal Kabootar which is very right.
8.1/10 for me too!
