  • This is me last year.
Post panic attack.
Not well enough to keep a job, and having had vital financial support denied to me by a notorious company who handle benefit claims to the government.
I only ate because my parents bought my shopping. 
I could hardly do any social or leisure activities the last two years because of illness, depression, isolation nor could I financially.
I was close to ending it twice.
If it had not been for my very close friends, family, the amazing community Iโ€™ve found on social media, and council funded CBT, I donโ€™t know if Iโ€™d be here.
Thankfully, I won my appeal, and I will give myself permission to get healthy and buy courses to help me learn more art skills, and to grow my Instagram.
I took the photo to document the pain I was feeling.
I felt alone so many times, but each time I gathered the courage to reach out, someone threw me a line.
Itโ€™s ok to not be ok, and itโ€™s more than ok if you need help.

There is now a petition on 38degrees asking for a law that will make the press responsible for their hounding of people in the public eye or not.

Itโ€™s true that negative thinking habits are debilitating to the self-esteem and self-confidence. But we must not be afraid of negative thoughts, as they ARE useful. โ €

Sit and observe your negative thoughts. What are they truly saying? Where are they coming from? Sit and observe them. Then ๐Ÿ›‘ STOP ๐Ÿ›‘ Transition over to positive ones, ones that make you feel good about something youโ€™ve accomplished lately, big or small achievements are important as can be! โ €

We must not brush negative thoughts under the rug. We shouldnโ€™t shove them into the attic to gather dust. Problems do not magically solve themselves if youโ€™re making room for them still in your head. Donโ€™t be afraid to really look at your thought patterns, question them, come face-to-face with them. โ €

Apply this to your day to day life and youโ€™ll witness tremendous self growth and a positive change in your perception ๐Ÿ’ญ๐Ÿ’š

  • โ€œPanic! At the Discoโ€ guyโ€™s voice is amazing. The name popped in my head just now as Iโ€™m getting ready to sleep the night after what *seemed to be* my first โ€œPanic! Attackโ€. Some of you out there might know these all too well. Ugh!!! UGH!!! Iโ€™m a few days late to the mental health awareness month (?) and I donโ€™t generally feel like an anxious person...but my body has told me otherwise...๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ...what I really care about tonight is NOT having another one. Maybe since 02-02-2020 is slowly disappearing from view Iโ€™ll be ok? (Hey was that a weird thing for anyone else?) Maybe you all can send me out some positive vibes? On the bright side, itโ€™s given me something very interesting to write about for my next blog post...๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ...and you guessed it...I did a LOT of singing today after the fact...๐ŸŽถ๐ŸŽถ...I completely forgot about it when I sang.   • I really enjoy practicing mindfulness meditation. It can be an effective way to manage feelings of stress and anxiety, and can even be used as a relaxation technique for panic disorder. Meditation techniques can help you slow down racing thoughts, letting go of negativity, and calm both your mind and body.

When you first begin to meditate, you may be surprised at how challenging it can be to sit in silence, I know it is for me. In fact, the act of sitting still may put your thoughts in turbo drive. So I recommend to get started with the practice, ease in with sessions of only a few minutes like the videos I have posted. Once you develop a more regular, familiar practice, you can gradually increase your time. Let go of all negativity and get into an inner peace with yourself.

It was exactly what I needed to get out of my own head. There were plenty of take-aways from throughout the book. But the last few pages were full of major truth bombs.

One of the common excuses we feed ourselves is, โ€œ I want to change my life... but [fill in with all the excuses].โ€ But hereโ€™s the thing, if you continue to fill in the blank with any of your excuses and stay stuck... the truth is, YOU DONโ€™T WANT CHANGE. It doesnโ€™t matter what aspect of your life you would like to be better at or change. The fact is if you wanted change, youโ€™d do something about it.
โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €โ €
If that felt like I just hit you in the face with those words, maybe you need this wake up call. My wake up call about my health was my gallbladder surgery. Iโ€™ve had a different wake up call lately and I hope to share more about that in the coming month. Sometimes we continue to make excuses for ourselves and hope one day things will be perfect or one day Iโ€™ll do the dang thing. But until you decide to make that day today... you will be stuck in the same spot.

Beyond tinted screens,
a representation of hidden pain,
remains a spirit on fire,
still burning, though, an abundance of rain,
repeats of painful examples of what I previously said negatively affected me,
continue, out of spite at times, crawling my skin like stray dogs with fleas,
attack after attack, seems like spines have been removed from backs,
a bunch of pitiful โ€œwhatโ€™s wronnng?,โ€ when Iโ€™m suffering from a panic attack,
and everybody needs me, 
itโ€™s difficult for me to take,
knowing everything falls apart,
if I make a mistake;
the pressure, the pain, I try refraining from weed and alcohol,
but come to find out, pills are worse...afterall!
Iโ€™m trying not to be worried about being worried, with plenty of worries,
but uplifted when writing, releasing  pain in stories,
repeating quotes of glory, absorbing the energy surrounding me...
then itโ€™s something else,

  • Thinking back, when the first photo pictured was taken (2013) was a time in my life I was going through some major changes. I am not sure what exactly lead up to it, but the following year I had my first panic attack. It may have been the moving back and forth (from 2006-2010) to Oklahoma, trying to figure out where I fit in. I know now what kind of mentally deteriorating situation that was. In 2017 I went through a very draining emotional time. Especially during the holidays. This lead up to almost two years of what a therapist told me was PTSD. I dealt with it in some of the worst ways possible. On the bright side, the bad lead to the good, and I have a more open mind now. Currently I am medicated, which helps just a little. I still have panic attacks, agoraphobia, constant anxiety, and from others have observed I can be quite OCD. I always thought I would be that random, outgoing, weird gal... I dealt with it in some of the worst ways possible. On the bright side, the bad lead to the good, and I have a more open mind now. Currently I am medicated, which helps just a little. I still have panic attacks, agoraphobia, constant anxiety, and from others have observed I can be quite OCD. I always thought I would be that random, outgoing, weird gal...
