  • This is the Anxiety cycle so many people with anxiety find themselves in. The thing about having anxiety is that this cycle will be there. The goal is to implement self-care quicker than usual and use some Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Skills to manage the rest of the cycle. You’ve got this 👌🏼🙏🏼👍🏼

  • Fun fact about me: I have a hairless sphinx. A lot of people think he’s ugly. Some people are scared of him. Most people won’t even touch him. But to me he’s perfect. This is a perfect reminder that we don’t have to be appealing to everyone 💕💕💕

  • Ever Since my ectopic pregnancy last year... I been having panic attacks. 😞 And I notice I usually get them 1 -4x a month but they are All around the same time! 👎🏽When my hormones are out of whack! That monthly “blessing” that we Women usual get is even more dreadful! I just want you to know there are women out there like me! I’m copping on my own... Dr. has offered me medication BUT I’m not trying to use any! As many get addicted to some of the medicine offered! Just be aware... there’s people who look like they have everything together, excited for life events but there’s times We feel like just Running away and live under a rock a lone ! And I’m thankful for my family for understanding... and @full_blood_samoan being a text away when an episode happens... bc at times you truly feel alone... even if your Not✨! #panicattackawareness #keepingcalm #notfeelingit #wasokay3minago #0to100realquick

  • Sleep is one of the main things that anxiety can impact. Anxiety keeps people up late at night because the negative feedback loop kicks in. It’s important to use your relaxation techniques at night. CBT has been helpful in managing those negative thoughts that can lead you to stay up all night long

  • AND BREATH...
This was the calm before a massive anxiety and panic attack happened tonight.
.
.
.
I have been stressed, nervous, worried, overthinking, second guessing, micro managing, waiting... For over a week.
.
.
.
Like i have said before the less things are in my control, the more I struggle.
Untill, like today I explode.
.
.
.
Now a days my explosions are much smaller than pervious years. But when it happens any and every doubt no matter how big or small comes to the fore front on my thoughts. Everything looks black... I fource myself to see all the negative even if ( the rest of the time there is none, or its too small to care). Thoughts rush around like there's no tomorrow.
.
.
.
I cant breath, I can't form a sentence. I curl up into a ball and cuddle and squeeze the nearest thing to me.
.
.
.
I am OK. I am now breathing, letting go of the negative energy and absorbing positive. I am starting to see both sides to my decisions again. I am aware of what triggered the situation, and I am trying to come to terms with it.
.
.
.
Tomorrow it will be seen as a bad moment...
.
.
.
But this is the reality for someone living with anxiety and depression. These moments happen, even when you do all you can to reduce them.

  • A few weeks ago I was challenged by my psychiatrist to think about something I enjoy doing that could provide a distraction to my endless anxiety and panic attacks. Truthfully, this wasn't easy because my self esteem isn't great these days but eventually I've fallen back in love with cooking and sometimes for the briefest time while I'm doing it my pain and anxiety goes away. I haven't done this for sympathy or a cry for help, this was something i needed to do for me up to this point which is why I created a second account totally anonymous with no links to me. I've found it really helpful and therapeutic to share whilst also unintentionally being an advocate for depression and anxiety disorders. It's been great to hear from so many people affected by the same things that affect my day to day life and makes me proud that some people have even gone out of their way to either wish me well or tell me my posts help and make a difference to their recovery. If anyone wants to check it out my name is depressive_foodie. I'm by no means fixed but felt it the right time to share because it might help someone else the same way this community of people have helped me in their small ways. It's taken me a while but I'm realising my mental health isn't something to be ashamed of. #depressive_foodie #depression #anxiety #panic #mentalhealthawareness #mentalillness #mentalhealth #anxietyawareness #anxietyattack #panicattackawareness #panicattacks #itsgoodtotalk #positivity #positivethinking #babysteps

  • F.E.A.R.- Forget everything and run! I wanna use today's #tbt to talk about fear.. I was so afraid of snails. I didn't leave home on rainy and humid days, being afraid to meet them outside. If I couldn't avoid it and saw one, my whole system went through a horrendous panic attack. Crying, trembling, shaking, heartbeats of 250bpm and I couldn't breathe. I love being in nature but had to lock myself inside, always afraid of meeting a snail. So, so, so bad! I felt so helpless, those gross, disgusting animals triggered my strongest fear. I wanted to be free.. tried to look at them on photos, already that was to much. Then one day a good friend said to me: You know what? Those snails are soooo sad!! Seeing you big human being freaking out in front of them! See THEIR fear of YOU! ... ok, that made me sad too and slowly, veeery slowly I took my fear and changed it into "Face everything and rise". I took that picture 10 years ago, free from that huge fear I had. It was a long journey to arrive there but I made it ❤️❤️❤️ Anyone else with an animal- phobia out there? #fear #overcomefear #snailphobia #snail #phobia #panicattacks #panicattackawareness #healing #courage #muttutgut #freedom #proud #snailphotography

  • I’m posting this one because it made me laugh! I wanted to go look up the guy who invented the pool noodle

When I was a kid, I wanted to be rich. My goal was to become a lawyer so I could be rich
Somewhere along the way, I found my passion for psychology and the rest is history
Maybe I’ll be rich and maybe I won’t. I guess it depends how you define rich. But one thing for sure- I always go after my dreams 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
