Meet Phil from Ohio. He’s had #type1diabetes for 50 years and is clearly a warrior! I was walking in #Athens at the #parthenon and heard someone yelling for me. It was a pleasure meeting him and learning about his #diabetes journey! #omnipod

How 7 ancient ruins around the world would look like reconstructed. 🎥: Expedia #architectanddesign
The Parthenon is a former temple on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron 🏛.
The greatest and finest sanctuary of ancient Athens, dominates the centre of the modern city from the rocky crag known as the Acropolis. .
Athens was my last stop in Greece and I’ve been there just for 24h, my first impression to the city was a bit bad because one of the first things I’ve found on the street was credit cards and driver licenses of two different persons next to a wall dirt of feces. I left all in the hostel in that street and contacted those persons on Facebook, one of them replied me two days later, someone stole her bag in the metro with the phone as well.
I guess this kind of thing could happen in any city, it happened to my friend in the metro in Paris. So be careful in the metro no matter which city you are 🙈.

Greece was awesome 💙
And she made it even better ❤️
Athens, Greece. Here kitty kitty... trust me, you don't have to go far in Athens to find a cat, or twenty. They are all over the place. Every major archaeological spot had several cats roaming around. Most, like this one, were perfectly content to serve as the subject of a photo shoot.
The feral cats in Athens have the potential to get of hand, but there are groups trying to help. One such group is @ninelivesgreece -- a network of volunteers dedicated to the reduction of the stray cat overpopulation through a trap-neuter-return program. Well done!
Greece is full of ancient history. Our time in Athens was spent learning about the ancient Greek empire and the gods they worshipped. The city is full of buildings that have been standing for centuries, with some almost 2500 years old! We took a morning tour of Athens, and we were glad we had an expert who could speak to the historical significance of these ancient buildings. We were actually surprised at the amount of restoration taking place. It's just not something you think about, but it's obviously necessary to keep these buildings standing for future generations.
The city of Athens is still uncovering ancient ruins. The Acropolis Museum was constructed about 10 years ago, but was delayed when the construction crew realized they were digging into ruins around the foundation. The museum now has a transparent floor where visitors can see the excavation of the ruins beneath the building. The subway system is another example of the city finding ruins during a construction project. The subway stations in the city have "mini-museums" inside them where they display the artifacts that were found while constructing the stations.
Did you know that the goddess Athena was born by coming out of Zeus head? Zeus’ head was dashed (of course he survived, it’s Zeus!), because he had a headache. He had this headache because he ate his wife Metis who was pregnant with 2 babies - and one of these babies was going to overthrow him. Wife and babies eaten, Zeus’ head dashed - and Athena came out as the goddess of wisdom, spirit, war, strategy and art - coequal to her father Zeus!
You go Athena! Love Greek mythology.
