What does your creative process look like? For me and Natalie Spears, dancing has always been a key part of our process and connection. Costumes - not always - but here it seemed necessary to keep our spirits bright through rehearsals! She and I have danced our way through some great tours, festival sets, late night jams, and here, after finishing the demos for our new EP, which we just finished tracking at @swingfingers.recording! We will let you when you can pre-order these oh-so-danceable songs! .

So, there's another challenge circulating on Facebook right now - The 10-day Performer/Artist Challenge!
Challenge: Every day, select an image from a day in the life of a Performer/Artist - a photo from a day you felt fierce or a memorable moment you've had during a performance/show, and post it without a single explanation, then nominate somebody to take the challenge. That’s 10 days, 10 Performance photos, 10 nominations and 0 explanations. Be active, be positive, be passionate... Raise Awareness of the Arts!
My sister @laurenaltheah nominated me awhile ago, and I - without a ton of guilt I might add - decided not to do it. (Sorry sweetie🙄) However, for today's #techniquetuesday , it felt right to share a little bit. I've been discussing with my students lately the idea of having a personality on the floor. With our first pro comp in a year looming on the horizon, I'm trying to tap into this again. By nature, I am an introvert. I can be shy, reticent, and reluctant to socialize. But the other, oft-hidden parts of my personality...they come alive on the dance floor. BAM!!🎆 On the best of days, I am fierce, explosive, passionate. On the worst of days, I'm just so darn thrilled to be out there.

Level 2s are working on the A frame tonight to finish up their partner routine! It’s looking FAB and we can’t wait to bring it all together 👏🏻

- Chunky heel over stiletto
- Closed toe over open toe
- Add two sizes to your men's shoe size

Join us for a special BachatOSO workshop on Jan 12th from 1-3pm with master Bachatera performer and teacher, Ivette Bogarin. She is leading a 2-hour Bachata workshop focusing on technique and partnering connection. Ivette is a skilled teacher who gives you the steps to practice body movement, musicality, styling, footwork and partnering.
@ivette.velvet has more than 7 years of professional dance experience and has won multiple national and international competitions in both #salsa and #bachata . She is currently focusing on the area of ladies' bachata, and is the director of the bachata performance team, Velvet. @velvet__dance
