Facing some difficulties dealing with some aspects of my childhood that resurfaced and is effecting my present. Some past traumas and realizations are hard to accept sometimes, especially when your mind tends to forget, romanticize, and idolize the past "happy" life.
I learned I should be kinder to myself, less critical, and more patient. I should accept myself and admit the truth about what I don't accept. I should love myself and prioritize her happiness.
TIC TAC TIC TAC … GO GO GO le PASSÉ n’existe plus et le FUTUR n’est pas écrit, c’est ce que vous faites à l’instant présent qui construit votre LENDEMAIN.👍
NE REGRETTEZ PLUS LE PASSÉ ET NE REDOUTEZ PAS LE FUTUR : VIVEZ LE PRÉSENT ❗️❗️❗️🤩

I pulled my car into work to give it a little wash and take the bird poop and berries off and all the coworkers circled around it and said how nice it is. Yes it’s an old car and there are new very nice cars out there but I’m so thankful for this gift and I will always be thankful for it. It’s not the car itself. It’s just being humble and thankful for everything and everyone you have in this life. #together#thankyou#family#friends#future#past#life
Australian National Hotel, Wellington Road, East Brisbane.
Today we are looking at the McDonnell & East Footrace from East Brisbane to Tingalpa with the Australian National Hotel behind. As you can see from this earlier photograph the building has been replaced at some stage.
For now lets start from the beginning.
Not a lot exists on this hotel in a documented form. Even this picture of the earlier hotel is the only one that I have been able to locate.
I have tried visiting the establishment and sadly nothing exists there even about their own history.
So I have taken it upon myself to research its history just like I do with many of the buildings featured in my posts.
While researching through old newspaper articles I have uncovered the following.
It dates back to at least February 1890 when E. Mockridge applied to the licensing court to transfer the license. One month later the license was confirmed as being transferred from W.C. Little to E. Mockridge, who was the previous licensee of the Wills’ Hotel in Mackay that burnt down sometime in 1888/1889.
I am unsure of Mr Mockridge’s first name, but in October 1892 an Edward Mockridge was listed as deceased and his wife was applying in the Supreme Court to access his bank funds. The name Richard Collom appears in that listing, which also ties in with the fact that a reference of the hotel in April 1892 showed Richard Collom applying to renew the license. Not long after an advertisement from December 1892 shows that James Farry owns the hotel, who then appears again in April 1893 to renew the yearly license.
In August 1902 James lost his son, also named James and the funeral departed from the hotel and headed towards Toowong Cemetery.
James Farry held onto the hotel until 1907 when he sold it onto Christopher Allchin.
I was able to track down an advertisement posted by Mr Allchin in 1913 where he expressed his wishes to transfer the ownership of the license to Mr James Pringle. This was Mr Pringle first attempt at owning a hotel and I am certain that he owned it until at least November 1913 as I have found a listing where he expressed his interest to pass the license onto Frederick H. Utting.
