  • Packing + downsizing to move to Hawaii, running a business that I’m so passionate about, motherhood, being a wife, allllll those things are amazing gifts that I GET to do, but I can also run full speed right into the ground until I crash and burn. I have to be proactive in taking care of myself physically, emotionally and spiritually. This weekend I took a quick dip below the wellness line so I’ve been allowing myself to rest more, take breaks, drink lots of liquids, Ningxia-Red-it-up to boost my immune system, thieves all day, oregano, grapefruit seed extract, mineral essence, cut out any and all sugar, limit my coffee to just the morning cup (because it’s my fave 😍), and diffuse my oily goodness all day/all night. Grateful everyday for this lifestyle. Just wish I had started sooner!

  • If your friends are sitting and bad mouthing your spouse when yall have a disagreement, you need to get you some new friends 🤷🏿‍♀️
•
Marriage is HARD WORK. We don't have to tell you that. But it's even harder when there's no one in your corner pushing you to fight for your marriage when things get tough.
•
You don't need anymore naysayers, know-it-alls, or people who will condone your unacceptable behavior because they think your spouse "deserves it" 🙅🏿‍♀️
•
Get you some friends who will love you❤, pray with you🙏🏿 and then send you 👉🏾 B A C K H O M E to your spouse so the two of you can work it out.
•
Get you some friends who respect your marriage AND your spouse 💥 who aren't gonna just sit back and watch you - or even worse push you to - give up on your vows.
•
Get you some MARRIED FRIENDS who are honoring their vows and know what it means to put in the work. *not that your single friends don't have wisdom*
•
Find you some friends with fruit on their tree in marriage 🍇🍎 not your bitter friends who've gone from relationship to relationship, who bash men, use women, and can't seem to commit.
•
Surround yourself with friends who are cheering you on, praying you through, and looking out for your best interest. Who will send you back home and point you to God ☝🏾
•
NOTE: This post is not for anyone dealing with abuse or repeated infidelity. In these cases, while we believe God can heal any situation, you should seek professional help and safety immediately.

  • I hope you all had an amazing Easter! 💗 Loved worshiping at church this morning celebrating Jesus’ victory over sin and death! ➕ Holidays can sometimes look a little non-traditional when you live away from family.. but I’m so thankful for a wonderful church and some amazing friends to make us feel loved! 💕

  • Our birth story. Part 1. Please note wet armpits walking to L&D.
.
We went to my 38 week appt. where my MW Mary checked/ stripped me and kindly said “the docs would be prettttty upset with me if I sent you home. You are 5 cm with bulging waters.”
.
I was nervous to go into labor— to even be stripped. “they can just stay in there”...to close my pregnancy chapter for forever, and step into parenting five babes + twins! So, I was shocked when my hands shot up in excitement at the word “you’re headed to the hospital”(Who is this person?!?)
.
Joe was my rock, tending to me, a ticking time bomb, tired and worn from doing a majority of the parenting and house work. It’s not easy to watch your wife be uncomfortable, and so to say he was ready for me to not be pregnant, was an understatement..
.
But as I shot my hands in the air in excitement, his mouth drew a quivering smile, and his face straight up read “oh shit. Things just got real.” (Just a few of the words that travel in your head and out of your mouth sometimes as parents of 3 going on 5 ). 🤣🤭
.
Once again. We found ourselves each with our own set of emotions.
.
I hugged Mary and the nurses and received last words of encouragement. Mary wasn’t on call but I invited her to come over to join the party if she could... I didn’t want to do this w/out her.
.
We came prepared with our bags so we drove around the corner to ER...both of us shaking like a leaf and processing. Looking back, I was so grateful for how this went down. Time to process and prepare and get acclimated.
.
I was nervous of timing—(finding a sitter if I went into labor suddenly), but my in-laws were in town and at home with the boys. I wanted the boys to be able to meet the babies after birth so we could have pictures and celebration—it was late morning. Totally possible. And my doulas and birth photog had to make arrangements for their kids—they got a real good heads up and made it way before things got real. I was nervous about who was on call + for our birth plan to be received. We had time to meet and become acquainted with everyone. .
All that to say—the Lord saw us in the smallest of details and His presence is thick all around. TBC

  • Season 7: What’s it Like to be in Ministry?

Are you interested in being in ministry, or do you want to gain a better understanding of what it’s like to be in ministry?

This season, we interview some worship leaders and song writers, a pastor’s wife and daughter, mission coordinators, and a female speaker.

Here are some brief descriptions of this season’s episodes:
Episode 31: What is it Like to Lead Worship? With Mack Brock. Mack Brock started off touring in a band but soon felt God call him into ministry. If you feel called to lead worship, you don’t want to miss gaining some wisdom from @mackbrock in this episode.

Episode 32: Dare to be A Songwriter with Molley Moody Mandi Moseley. Have you ever dared to write, sing, or record your own music? Daring to write and record your own music feels more vulnerable than covering someone else’s tunes, so we invited @molleymoddy and @mandimoseley to share about singer/songwriter journey.

Episode 33: Dare to Share Your Story with Toni Collier. Have you ever been scared to share your story, or maybe that your story would keep you from all that God has for you? Perhaps your story is what God wants to use to help you minister to someone with a similar past or experience. @tonijcollier shares how God taught her that broken crayons still color.

Episode 34: What Is It Like To Be a Pastor’s Wife? With Danielle and Kacey Newsome. Many pastor’s families feel the weight of expectations: who they expect themselves to be or who others expect them to be. In this episode, Sharie talks with her friend @daniellenewsome and her daughter, Kasey, about what it’s like to be in a ministry family.

Episode 35: Dare to Share the Gospel with Josh and Che’ Gardner and Kevin and Kyndal Myers with Compassion International. The word, evangelism, has become progressively taboo in our culture, but God still desires for us to share the good news of the gospel with others. In this episode, we talk about how to share the gospel locally and globally from a full heart without fear.

As usual you can listen to #overcomingmonday on your podcast platform.

  • Believe it or not, Evie took this picture of her Daddy on stage at church on Sunday 📸 I was pretty impressed 👌🏻... then she promptly started taking close-up pictures of people next to us 🤦🏼‍♀️ AWKWARD!
But not the point of my post 🤪
•
Looking at this picture I was reminded of one of the MANY reasons I am so grateful for my virtual franchise business 🙏🏻
•
With my husband being a pastor, working weekends and “odd hours,” he and I would be like ships passing in the night if I still worked a typical M-F, 8-5, inflexible job in the corporate world. We like each other WAYYYY too much for that to be sustainable 💑
•
Not to mention, Evie would have A LOT LESS Daddy time because I wouldn’t have the ability to be a full time mom, making my own schedule, and taking every opportunity to be wherever Daddy is! And she’s a Daddy’s girl to the max so I’m super thankful to be able to give her the gift of more time with him 💝

  • WHAT ARE YOU PRAISING JESUS FOR TODAY?

After two days of bad weather we are praising Jesus for the opportunity to be outside on this beautiful spring day! Here in the Texas Panhandle it often seems like we have two seasons - winter and summer. But this year we have had a true spring complete with lots of rain and thundershowers. I honestly don’t remember it ever being this green in the 25 years that I’ve lived in the Panhandle.

So today, we are praising Jesus for the beautiful weather! Tell me what you are Praising Him for today!! I would love to rejoice with you!

  • Summer is quickly approaching! I don’t know about you, but I’m a better mama with routines and rhythms in place and so are my kiddos. I’ve been incorporating this weekly summer schedule for the past few summers and it’s a GAME CHANGER! Allow me to break it down for you...
•
“Move it” Monday: go to a park, go on a hike, ride their bikes around the neighborhood, go to an indoor trampoline place. Anything that gets their bodies moving and hearts pumping.
•
“Quiet Time” Tuesday: the library, $1 movie at participating theaters, make crafts together. Anything that is a little more slow and quiet.
•
“Water” Wednesday: we live in the Deep South, so the only way to survive summer is near a body of water whether that’s the pool, sprinklers, beach or the lake depending on where you live.
•
“Tasty Treat” Thursdays: Sonic happy hour, Pelicans snowballs, make a treat at home together, etc. Mama likes to call this “Thirsty Thursday” and cheers to the fact that we’ve almost made it through another week of summer together 😉
•
“Family Fun” Friday: My husband’s day off is typically Fridays, so we will pick one of our summer bucket list activities and do it together as a family.
•
How do you survive the summer months?? Drop your tips and tricks below!

  • If I could go back 16 years ago and tell myself a few things, I’d say:
1. Take care of yourself. The job is hard, very full and fast paced. Take good care of yourself. You are the mama. You are important and worth the time for self-care.
2. Do the things you love to do: Walk everyday even if it’s frigid. The Sunshine is essential. Read the book. Plant the garden. Do something everyday that you love to do.
3. Don’t be afraid. The Lord is helping. Relax and enjoy the moments. Laugh and make fun happen bc He’s already ahead of you for tomorrow.
4. Love BIG. Be present in the moment. Every hug, love pat, sweet note, smile, word of encouragement is making them who they will be. Love BIG.
5. Probiotics and essential oils are legit. ✨This picture captures our yesterday as our oldest wrapped up baseball. Today is here with laundry and dishes in our home of 7. To all the mamas, let’s keep going. Lets keep moving. Let’s keep loving and stay in The Light. We have these children to raise because The Good Lord believes in us and does His mighty part right alongside of us. #pastorswife #mamaofFive #theMinistryOfMotherhood #probiotics

So thankful for my team and all of the resources they provide. This diffuser blend was posted in one of our exclusive groups and I decided to give it a try today. If you got your PSK before this year then you have all three of these oils already! ❤️

  • New favorite way to study my Bible: with a Bible commentary. 📖 It’s really neat to get an explanation about verses you’ve just read to give insight on them. Sometimes I don’t understand certain verses or passages or I space out as I read entire portions 🤷🏻‍♀️ so when I read an explanation on them, it makes sense. It’s a different twist on Bible study but I like variety so I’m enjoying it!

.
-I’ll be okay if I just get a break. -I don’t know how much longer I can do this. -I’m stressed out of my mind. -As soon as I finish one thing there are fifty more. -No one gets how hard I work.
.

For years I wanted to believe my burden could be light. But my experience was hit and miss. When I felt exhausted I just kept telling myself, “keep going.” I was proud of being a hard worker. But I stayed too long in overdrive and I paid a huge price. .

I’m about to share with you one simple (but not easy) practice I use every day now to combat overwhelm. .

I’m not exaggerating when I say it has probably lowered my stress a good 50%- even in the busy ministry culture, I work in today. . . . . . 👉 Click Link in our Profile & Go to Blog and let’s get your schedule finally working FOR you.

  • where are my enneagram junkies? 🙋🏻‍♀️as an 8w7, the only mode i know is fast and then faster. my mind exhausts me at times - ideas swirling at all hours of the day, incredibly future oriented and wanting everything to be done quickly, efficiently as of course as fun as humanly possible.
🎉
this looks like me talking to jason about a new idea i have for our home at LEAST every other day. 😂 as a 1 with a teeny tiny wing 2, i have the tendency to overwhelm him. 🤓 he lives in the present, as a dutiful type 1 does. so i now try preface my “let’s makeover the kitchen for 100k” conversations with *in the future* or *someday*. i’m convinced this small tweak helps to bring the poor guy’s’ blood pressure down.
💁🏻‍♀️
what is one thing you have had to learn to modify when speaking to people of different types? how long did it take you to realize your communication style could be more effective to them?

  • Meet Phil and Sue Engelman:
Director and staff member for Grace Valley Ministries. They have dedicated 40+ years of their life to ministry. Decade after decade of laying down their pride, their resources, their friendships, their ministries, their churches, their roles, their pursuits, their ideas, their goals...all for the sake of a calling that God has had on their lives all of this time. The calling has looked very different in many stages of life and has brought both sorrow and joy. Yet the Father has carried them. He’s brought them to this very precious position to care for pastors, wives, ministry leaders and missionaries who need to be seen, heard, supported and encouraged. Though heartache and pain are part of life, God’s strength and joy are always tangible. These characteristics are even visible in the people who hold the hands of those who are hurting. We praise God for Phil and Sue and the unique experiences, wisdom and gifting that God has given them to serve so many people.

To our JILGM FAMILY salamat po sa pagpunta, kay Councilor Alangsab and his wife for sparing your time to be with us Thank you much po, Yesterday was an indication that being an Igorot is such an honor and its my pride to become a part of this clan. (Naragsak kami iti panagsala yu) Salamat San Luis sa sa pagtanggap sa akong palawenyong asawa😂#proudigorota #pastorswife

  • All it takes is 30 seconds of bravery to make a decision that could change your life. ⁣
⁣
Sounds dramatic but honestly I don’t say it just for effect, I say it because it’s true. ⁣
⁣
It has changed so many areas of my life it is hard to even list them all but to name a few- I’m not exhausted all the time, my mood and anxiety are better, I don’t have daily headaches and neck pain, I don’t feel like the only thing that fits comfortably are yoga pants (all though I still do love me some yoga pants), my family is healthier, I have more energy at 36 than I had at 25 and honestly the list could go on and on. ⁣
⁣
When I started I was nervous I’d fail. I was nervous I’d quit. Why? Because I had so many time before. But this time was different because I was surrounded by community keeping me accountable and I was determined to not break another commitment to myself. ⁣
⁣
All it takes is the bravery to START!! ⁣

Registration is open for my next boot camp!! ♡

  • One of my favorite places to be! Met my husband in church, came to know the Lord in church, my kids have trusted Christ in church and nearly 25 year of ministry in the church! I feel so blessed and I’m drinking from the saucer because my cup has overflowed!

  • Oh sweet little,
My heart is yours and that is the most beautiful and yet the absolute scariest thing to experience.
I don’t know how long we’ll get to kiss you goodnight, snuggle you to sleep, or wake up to your sweet voice.
I don’t know how long you’ll call our house a home, how long we’ll get to hear you call us Nani and Daddy, or how long we’ll get the privilege of hearing your screams of excitement when we enter the room.
But here is what I do know.
I will love you forever, I will fiercely advocate for you, I will always be a safe place, I will always be here for a hug or to talk, my house is always open, and again... my heart will love you forever.
Foster care is scary.
Futures are so unsure.
But snuggling you extra and taking advantage of the time we get to love you from right here.

  • I thought I’d pop in and give a health update - it’s the question I seem to get the most. Well things are still the same I have started this book by @chalenejohnson called the 131 Method. If you notice on the cover the plan is suppose to help with gut health, I’m hoping that so because my gut is ruined. This book has really helped me get a handle on my food mentality, I’m so thankful. My whole life I have been fed extremes with food, first being a competitive gymnast then going right into the fitness field then getting celiac disease. I felt so confused by all the scientific studies that tooted one way over another was the way to eat. It was so hard to figure out away to heal my stomach from the antibiotic abuse I have been through. Chalene’s book has helped me see that they all might be right, it’s how my body responds to them that makes them right not what studies say. I’m not sure if I’ll ever heal my gut but I’m so happy just to be free to figure out what works for me.
The first phase is called “Ignite”, it is a Ketoish phase in which to get your body regulating your hormones. I really have loved this phase - minus the whole transition and Keto flu thing. I’m moving to the next phase soon “Renew” in which you pull back on animal products and focus more on micronutrients. I’ll keep you posted!
I’m sorry for the awful pictures, I like my food all mashed together. But they are all low carb.
At the end of the day, God is sovereign over my health and whether I heal, I just need to know that I have given it my all in attempt to work with more energy for Him. Until then, I’ll heed the exhortation from Sunday’s sermon and embrace and love my weakness, His grace is sufficient ❤️

  • “Before you love what you see on the outside you have to love who you are on the inside”
⠀⠀
Reminded of this powerful truth in of all places, a dressing room.
.
The place where nothing looks as good on as it did on the hanger.
⠀⠀
The place where women tear themselves apart, body part by body part.
.
The place where the mirrors must be lying but how can they?
.

I have to admit I’ve been guilty of similar thoughts myself. But when you know who you are and more importantly WHOSE you are, the outside loses its power to determine your worth. ⠀⠀ . “I am fearfully and wonderfully made”
Ps 139:14
⠀⠀
“She is more precious than rubies”
Prov 3:15
⠀⠀
“God is within her, she will not fall”
Ps 46:5
⠀⠀
“Even the very hairs on your head are numbered. So do not be afraid, you are worth more than many sparrows”
Matt 10:30-31a
⠀⠀
“Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, oh Lord”
Ps 139:4
⠀⠀
“For we are God’s workmanship”
Eph 2:10

  • I have seen many of my friends share their summer reading lists, so I thought I would join in. Last summer I read Fresh Wind, Fresh Fire by Jim Cymbala and loved it so much that I could hardly put it down. When I heard he had more books I knew I would want to read them as well.
I am about halfway through “Cultivate” by @laracasey I am reading this book with the rest of the Area Coordinators I serve with at Operation Christmas Child. We have been reading it collectively since February and talk about the chapters on our monthly calls. The message of this book is all about growing a deep and meaningful life, so it is great for any season or stage of life.

Lastly I picked up “Discerning the Voice of God” by @priscillashirer Priscilla is one of my all time favorite Authors, so I cannot wait to read this book.

What is on your reading list this summer? I am always looking for new books to read so share your favorites with me in the comments.

  • A McDonald’s date with Riley before we go get the older two. One last day of just him and I. One day left of school 🙌. 📚 This year in school Riley wrote a book with his class about their mothers . He wrote about our McDonald’s breakfast dates that we use to take after dropping the older two off at school. I had no idea he remember those or that they meant that much to him. So I decided since he got out of school a few days before them, we should celebrate with another McDonald’s date ❤️. He was supper excited about the idea. #mcdonalds #ilovemyson #lunchdate #withmybaby
