Policeman Carl Winslow has enough to deal with on the job. But when he gets home, he still has to handle kids, his wife, Harriette (whose character was first introduced on the sitcom "Perfect Strangers"), his mom, a sister-in-law and Urkel, the nerd next door who doesn't understand that he doesn't actually live with the Winslows.
First episode date: September 22, 1989
Final episode date: July 17, 1998
Theme songs: As Days Go By, What a Wonderful World, Family Matters Ending Theme Song
Predecessor: Perfect Strangers. Review: I want to start off by saying R.I.P to the beautiful and wonderfully talented Michelle Thomas. Now I had no idea family matters was a spin off of another show which Harriette was a character on. Now family matters was that show to watch. On the same level as fresh prince. Carl Winslow played a huge role in my upbringing as he did for many others. He gave off that fatherly vibe. He was acting but he was so good you believed the words that he said. @jaleelwhite was motivation for me wanting to be a actor at one point. He was put on the show really for two episodes. Then it became soon as he step on screen they were cheering for him. I still find amazing to make an impact that big that they change you from two episodes to 9 seasons as the MC. I love this show because it showed black love in a black family. It dealt with issues that were happening in everyday life. I will forever love this show. It will always be in my top 3 of favorites tv shows of all time. 10/10 #movie#movies#tvshow#tvshows#dvd#dvds#dvdcollector#dvdcollection#familymatters#hariettewinslow#carlwinslow#blackexcellence#blacklove#blackfamily #✊🏾 #top3#perserverance#love#loved#fatherfigure#recommended#reviewed#moviecritic

This bird has been flying into my window for months. On repeat. All morning. All afternoon. #perserverance
Have you ever been told that you need to change "x, y, z" about yourself in order "make it'? Are you afraid that you are "not good enough?" Have you been told that you need to settle, stop your silly daydreams, "get real," or in any way, shape, or form HIDE WHO YOU ARE?
I have. I believed it. I believed I was not good enough. I believed that my inner passions were not worth exploring, I believed that my passion and my strong, deep feelings were 'too much" for others to handle. So I started to hide. And in hiding, I lost myself and my love of life.
What is your story? What from your past are you holding onto that is not allowing you to push forward into the future with excitement, joy, passion, and pure love?! The story of the mythical siren is that by using their brilliant, gorgeous voices they turned into monsters and lured men to their death. What if we could reinvent the siren's story? The sirens are strong, courageous creatures that use their gifts to better the world!
What if we could reinvent your story, and in doing so, recapture your passion and love of creating the life you desire for yourself?? Would you do it?.....it's up to you, chica. Save the date and come on by.
Bring a journal, wear clothes that make you feel comfy and joyous, and come ready to learn how you can embrace your inner siren.
Yesterday, @szuting928 became an AMGA Rock Guide. 🎉🎉🎉
She started the long, often intense and expensive process four years ago. This spring @szuting928 put in long hours preparing for the final exam.
7 days before the exam, she suffered a finger injury while training for the test. Instead of complaining about her injury she put her head down and got the job done 💪
I am continually inspired with @szuting928 ambition, problem solving and positive attitude. Congratulations❤️👍🏻🎉

While April 25th might be a lot of people’s perfect date ( #misscongenialityday 😉), mine would have to be February 9th-the day I was crowned Miss Central California! After 6.5 years of competing, this moment was so worth all the years of perseverance and growth! I wouldn’t be able to have this opportunity of a lifetime if it weren’t for the ones who’ve supported me the entire way✨❤️NEVER give up on a dream, even when some don’t believe in you, have faith in yourself!!!👑Everyday I STILL wake up with such gratitude and optimism, and I can’t wait for what’s to come throughout this year🤗 #tbt#crowningmoment#makeadifference#perserverance#persistence#misscentralcalifornia#misscalifornia#throwbackthursday

Custom clock two, decided on a bible verse for this one.
Life's "dust" -- disappointments, setbacks, financial difficulties, broken relationships, etc. -- can drain you completely if you let it! It's always "ok2grieve," and...there are times when we have to push ourselves to avoid being stuck. Today might be a good day to take a step toward something that makes you feel good about you. 🙏☺Keep shining, good people. ❤ #dreamagain
I walked in the door & Charlie Belle’s lil sleepy head self walked up to me with arms out stretched & as i picked her up for a cuddle, i remembered a song i used to sing her... one that came to me in the hospital a few days after her birth when i was feeling very much a mama bear but not so much like i could really connect with this new tiny human & feeling a lil weirded out by that... & in my asking God to help us bond, this 60’s song by Rosie & the Originals popped in my head (one that must’ve made an impression on me in my oldies music phase back in Jr. High)
FYI: The oldies station in now 80’s music which is just weird & slightly depressing 😆
But alas this song, Angel baby, helped us navigate this funny space of getting to know each other & today it flooded me with how much tough & goodness we have navigated over together over the last 4 years (swipe left for some tiny Charlie Belle cuteness) & how grateful i am for all of it. We’re sending love to all the mamas out there today navigating alllll the seasons. You’re doing great mama. 🙌🏼🥰💕
Did you feel instantly connected to your babe after birth or did it take time?
