Self reflection is essential if you are trying to achieve a goal or follow your passion.
It's important to take time and ask yourself what your values are, assess your strengths & weaknesses, think about your perceptions & interactions with others & imagine where you see yourself in the future.
What failed you in the past & how can you correct your mistakes tomorrow?
Isolate yourself & envision the person you desire (& deserve) to become.
What did you do today to get you closer to that person?

In life we always have the choice. We can choose expansion, or we can choose to do the same things over and over.
When we do what we’ve always done, and look at the past to dictate our future, the future ends up looking a lot like the past.
And we ALWAYS have a choice, if we want to see a new future, no matter what the circumstances or the set backs.
The choices we make dictate the level of growth or monotony in our lives.

🌈Sunday Rituals to Prep for the Week Ahead...
One of the ways that I head-off potential anxiety and make sure my week works for me, is by intentionally taking time out on my Sundays to plan ahead.
If I lay out my schedule, get my to-do list and goals list in order, clean my space, engage in self-care, and mentally walk through my week coming up, I’m able to not just get through it— I can actually ENJOY it, AND be super productive!
Now, it doesn’t mean that unexpected things won’t come up, or that I won’t have upsetting experiences. I mean, this is real life right?
But, having this framework allows for me to be able to pivot and adjust for those unexpected moments, without getting completely knocked off-course and spun into an anxiety or self-judgement spiral!
Today, I encourage you to try some of these rituals to help set yourself up for success too.

Last night we had to miss the Face to Face training which our church had, concerning the new goal and personal development program we have. .
So we watched part of it today for homeschool and finished the rest as we made vision boards. .
I'm so excited for this new program. It's basically what I've taught my kids and clients for years, but now they get even more support as they do it. .
Can't wait to see what my kids acheive...even though one of them isn't having an amazing attitude about it, I hope it can eventually help them draw closer to their Savior and love who they are more. .

It’s happening, sisters! My baby is coming to life!
Two years ago I had an idea. That I would combine my passion for #emotionalhealth and #personaldevelopment , with my 10 years of experience and expertise in the wedding industry.
As I healed my own depression, I learned SO many helpful tools and practices to maintain balance, improve my relationships, and learn to have fun, pleasure, and joy NO MATTER WHAT.
I traveled all over + did so many crazy things in the name of #healing my broken heart, #connecting with my spirit, and learning the real life science and secrets of #manifesting (hint: it’s not what you think it is).
All the while, I had the honour + the privilege of photographing hundreds of weddings, and befriending hundreds of brides and their families...
I was there to celebrate the happiest moments of their lives and I also watched them struggle.
So many times, I would be a shoulder to cry on about wedding planning stress. And I would listen and say “That sounds so difficult!”
What I WANTED to say was, “Actually there are steps you can take to turn this situation around! There are things you can do. People who can help. I’ve been there!!”
But it was never my place - as a photographer - to say anything... Until now.
Now I’ve created The Course, and as soon as it launches, I will finally be living my dream: helping women be EVERYTHING they want to be, starting at this pivotal moment in their lives.

The first pic is of the books I’m currently reading. I’m a slooooow reader these days🤓It takes me like a month to get through a book unless I force myself to turn off my phone and go to a coffee shop. That’s real just being honest.
I am loving both of these books!📚 One is a book about breaking through what’s holding you back from becoming who you want to me✨🙌🏻The other is about our body obsessed world and how to find confidence in who you are🥰💃🏻learning to silence the noise from the the world.
The second photo is of my favorite book to date. I read it a last year and it hit hoooome. I plan to read it again over Christmas🎄at some point!

Talking about mum is still very fraught. I think it probably will always be like that, dancing that balance between pain and calm. Most of the time I’m ok, I can recall stories or memories and discuss them quite easily and openly, laugh about different anecdotes and little idiosyncrasies that made her who she was. But then every so often a comment or story, a little piece that slips into conversation will hit a nerve I didn’t know was there and it brings on a flood of longing. Of memories that are hard to relive, of all the things she hasn’t been here for, and won’t be here for.
Emotions are hard, especially when they come flying at you out of nowhere. You can’t plan for that. And that makes me nervous. I like to be prepared. Level headed. Steady. In this journey of personal, life, purpose, self discovery, being open to what comes without having a defined structure around it and some semblance of control (coz let’s be real, when are we ever actually truly in control?) is hard! Allowing feelings to come when they come, and sitting with them rather than trying to brush them off or push them under, that takes some guts. It’s giving yourself permission to be human over and over again.
I’m learning to develop an ease with it, an uncomfortable ease to be sure and it takes a heck of a lot of practice. Turns out sitting with emotions is actually far more powerful and effective than trying to shove them out of sight. Because we all know they come back to bite us on the arse in a much greater way if they are given time to brew and evolve down there in the back corners of our mind. But acknowledging them then and there and sitting with them, recognizing their temporary nature and allowing them space, that actually does give us back a degree of agency. We cant control when they hit, but we can decide how we respond and react.

We may say that we can't ... yet that is the choice of "can not". You are either conscious or unconscious of your choices however the fact remains that you are still making choices constantly.

When I found martial arts, I found something I loved that I never knew I needed in my life.
I found a challenge, a strive to get better, be better, and a place where even though Being a woman I’m very much a minority, a place I belonged.
This gave me confidence I never knew I had and a challenge to rise up to every time. Whether it was a tournament or a belt rank to work towards. And what I love about it is you never stop learning, no matter how long I’ve been in it, or what my rank is, there’s always something new to learn, and someone to learn from.

On Sunday, November 17th, I co-produced an event with my friend and colleague @coacheffyblue. The Consider This conference challenges the status quo in love, sex, and relationships and asks the audience to consider new perspectives and ways of living and loving in the world.
While this event took months to plan, it was actually more than 30 years in the making. Effy and I spent the majority of our lives following the prescribed path that promised us happiness and success. We worked hard to stay on the path and exceeded expectations, which led to success...but not happiness.
We did the work of accepting that that life did not work for us, deconstructing our old lives and building new ones rooted in personal truth, and crafting careers that aligned with the truth. Though we each went through these journeys in our own ways and at our own time - our paths crossed and we found in the other a kindred spirit.
So now we work together to create spaces where others can explore their truth, figure out how to untangle there lives, and be around other trailblazers who are no longer willing to accept only what is prescribed.

⏸ Can I be honest for a minute... I have been a real slacker lately.😕 But instead of focusing on all the ways I have been slacking and getting into a negative mindset, I am going to focus on what my goals are this week to get me closer to my long term goal of being my best self, physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
My goals for the week:
⭐ I will reach my daily caloric goal 3 times this week.
⭐ I will strive to make it 80% whole foods, 20% processed.
⭐ I will post when I work out (3-5x/wk) to help hold me more accountable.

I struggle to reach my maintenance caloric goal and I have a hate-hate relationship with vegetables. The moment you become aware of underplayed issues like guilt, shame, anger, hurt, unforgiveness, that disturbed your inner peace and depleted your physical, emotional, and spiritual energy. .
You will start to recognize them as disguised blessings and opportunities for TRUE self healing. .
We need to understand that these experiences are lessons for our souls growth, and to allow the process of healing to start inside and evolve. .
As you evolve the small things get resolved and you start to become peaceful and gain your happiness back. .
So be brave and take new steps toward your higher version. If not, you will just feed your old limiting beliefs. .
The first step can be small and doesn’t have to be perfect. But, we must take it to head in the right direction. .
Remember this: “Sometimes the smallest step in the right direction ends up being the biggest step of your life.” Tiptoe if you must, but you must take a step. -NC-

This month has been a workout. And if I am being honest, I often find myself here - balancing several priorities while still wanting to spend time with the people I care about and with myself.
And when I get through crazy, jam-packed, pressure-filled, emotional, exhausting weeks - like I just have - I feel tremendously grateful.
I feel grateful that the hustle is over (for now). Grateful for my mind and body that allows me to focus and push the way that I do. And grateful for the generations of women whose strength I draw from.
I have a powerful linage of fighters, dreamers, doers, and change makers - both from my bloodline and from the generations of female-identified advocates and trailblazers on whose shoulders I stand.
Here is to powerful women and the magic they accomplish on the weekly basis!
