I've been working with Louise since October and her main goals were to lose bodyfat, learn the Olympic lifts and gaining strength. One of the main exercises she wanted to do was pull ups 🏋️‍♀️
Now there's a lot there she wanted to work on but we've managed to tick most of it off!! As you can see in earlier posts!!

Pull ups have taken time, a lot of frustrating sessions thinking they weren't getting better when they clearly were 🤨 Also working on back strength in general as well as the movement itself with bands to assist 👍 
One of the biggest steps was adding in negatives reps to her routine and now, as you can see, she can get 5 strict unassisted pull ups. And can get a good few sets!! 💪😊 .
A huge achievement for someone who's never done pull ups!!! Her strength in all areas has gone up, most noticeably hip thrusts. 70kg up to 120kg and more 🍑
Plus she has got the physical results she's wanted through heavy resistance work. Losing body fat and gaining visible muscle across the board (before and after photos to come, when she says she's ready 😂) Losing 9kg (not that she needed to but aim is to put 2-3kg on) and going from 28% bodyfat down to 14% (caliper measurements not taken by me) 💪

I think this really shows you can gain strength while losing fat and see a very noticeable difference in physique 💪🏋️‍♀️ From not really doing strength training to what she's doing now, Louise has made a massive change and gained a hell of a lot in terms of technique, strength and muscle 💪 Now she just needs to keep on it and start eating more (which she knows cos I keep telling her 🍎🍗🍔)

- Arme zu schmal

Und trotzdem geht‘s mir gut, das ist der entscheidende Punkt. Klar kann man immer meckern und sagen, dass es noch besser geht. Allerdings sollte man nicht vergessen, hin und wieder mal zufrieden zu sein. Was nicht bedeutet, dass man nicht nach Verbesserung und Fortschritt streben sollte, denn nur so wachsen wir! Aber während diesem Prozess, können wir uns trotzdem mit den Dingen glücklich schätzen, die wir bereits erreicht haben. Denn darauf kann man letztendlich aufbauen und motiviert in die Zukunft schauen...

  • I have had a horrendous month when it comes to food and training. For the first time in a very long time, I well and truly let myself go. I have gained a huge amount of weight/fat and this morning something triggered me to get back to the healthy lifestyle I love. 
So.....today I got back to it and started my day off with a circuit and then meal prepped. I've planned my food and workout sessions for the week. These meals are just my main meals, but I will also be having a good breakfast and plenty of fruit and water alongside them. 
I've also planned my workouts for the week, mixing it up between circuits and steady state cardio. 
It doesn't matter if you lose yourself for a day or a month, the important thing is, that you find yourself again.

  • I'm aware that some people might find me a bit intimidating, too extreme or maybe even slightly arrogant when they see me on the gym floor, and might not feel like they can relate to me at all.

The thing is we aren't so different!

I've been overweight, unhappy with my body, lacked confidence and been riddled with self-doubt.

Ok, I may be a competitive bodybuilder so my training routine is a little more extreme shall we say and is meant to get me to a more extreme end goal, but the principals I use can be very similar to what I use with my clients depending on their goals.

For example, I train to build lean muscle and then cut back body fat to look better, feel better and to have a body I'm proud of.

No matter who you are this requires some smartly calculated workouts, structured nutrition, and a level of discipline.

I don't just coach bodybuilders, my clientele is extremely varied, from bodybuilders, athletes, females, seniors and people with severe disabilities.

My clients all have a different reason for exercising and I can honestly say I can relate in so many ways with ALL of them including the root and underlying desire to make a change to become a better human being. Z

Bench feeling strong again. Pendlay Rows feeling good too, tried a different technique for these, focusing more on power, and getting a little lower body involvement. Felt good. I'm sure this variation has a name, any ideas?

Had 2 days rest, missed my lower body day, why? It just felt right, sometimes you just got to listen to your body. Back to it next week 💪🏻

🐔 Protein- There is so much scientific literature that backs up the fact that protein helps with satiety. A consistent feeding throughout the day, also helps with maintaining muscle mass!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ☕️ Caffeine. Whatever form you take it in. It’s been known to surpress your appetite, which when dieting; your bound to be hungry! ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Personally for me, I LOVE coffee, so much so I’ve had to regulate my intake perriocially due to it affecting my sleep. As long as you’re not drinking copious amounts, esepcially late in the day; you should be fine. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
🍳  Skipping breakfast- Breakfast isn’t the most important meal of the day. This method is also known as intermittent fasting; where you push your first meal back in the day, to shorten the period where you eat. There’s no magic to it, but it can help individuals who like larger meals for example to bunch their calories together. I  normally have a coffee and protein shake in the morning that’s all when dieting ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🏃🏾‍♂️Increasing your energy expenditure - This will increase your calorie deficit and cause you to burn fat quicker. Alternatively, you could use this as being able to raise your calorie intake slightly whilst still being in a calorie deficit. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
⁣ 🍩 Treat yourself -  We all have our favourite foods, going through a dieting phase banishing all these tasty foods; could potentially cause up to binge and smash through your calorie intake. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

Be wary however if these treats are trigger foods. ⁣⁣⁣
