This is my buddy Doug Adderley, a guy that I haven't seen in far too long. We met back in the early '80s when we were studying photography and film at Ryerson. Doug was a bit older, and people occasionally mistook us for brothers. We made films together, and shared our love of photography and music. Doug introduced me to the Beat poets and the work of Diane Arbus and Robert Frank. Life dances on.

Lillian .....during the pause.
She had an aura of complete Serenity. It was palpable..feeling it in the space around her, heard in the tone of her voice, but it was during a pause in the process of conversation and photographing that it was seen so clearly. .
I have found that many of the images I love the most came in that lull....when one relaxes, reflects...a even more authentic self emerges.
