The chalk bucket.
It’s a place where fear thrives. A place where self doubt may shadow. A place polluted with nerves.
Insecurity. Over analyzing and over thinking.
You may even find yourself comparing yourself to the stronger, more experienced lifter who visited moments before you.
A lot can happen in this moment. It’s a place that can be flooded with emotion.
But it can’t be.
Here’s the thing — the seconds spent chalking your hands needs to be played. You are the player. The bucket is merely the game, and you are in control.
Being able to tell the thing between your ears to shut the f**k up and spend those seconds being 120% sure of yourself is crucial for the success of your upcoming lift.
Strength sports are a physical game of longevity - but the best in the game are the ones who are able to completely remove emotion from their lifts and go forward with confidence and hunger in an almost robotic manner.
Next time you’re on deck and step up to the bucket... ask yourself, is what you’re telling yourself a reflection of others around you and their expectations?
Or are you doing this for you?
Because this is the moment I live and breathe for. 🦁

You hear this all the time... but EVERYONE has the time. It comes down to how much you care about your overall health & fitness goals. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you catch yourself thinking this nonsense, think about how you utilize your time. You can get a solid workout in 45min-1 hour!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can sacrifice one of your netflix episodes! Yes scrolling through social media is addicting but sacrifice some of that time for a workout... your body will thank you! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You’re too busy? Well someone else is busier and is still getting it done. Our world has a ton of distractions but you can choose what’s important to you. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Working out benefits you physically and mentally. Each day you become better. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s all a mind game, just something to think about 🧠

Been a hot minute since I’ve thrown up weight in the 400’s. Felt good 🤗
Here's my latest core routine that's sure to leave those abs a 'lil crispy 🔥 I'm looking to do a full body workout in the very near future since a lot of you guys have been requesting that, so for now just tap the ❤️ & stay tuned! 😉 -
1️⃣ TRX Knee Tucks (4 x 10) ✨
2️⃣ Russian Twists (3 x 20, try to focus on controlling your body through the motion!) ✨
3️⃣ Shoulder Taps (3 x 10 each side, try to keep yourself as stationary as possible, only moving your arms!) ✨
4️⃣ Toe Touches (4 x 10 each side) ✨
5️⃣ Knee Drives (4 x 10 each side, knee goes to opposite elbow!) ✨ -
If you ain’t moving forwards, your moving backwards
Another day laying bricks, and along side it a new personal best.
Extremely happy with this as this is the heaviest I’ve pressed since my accident in July 2018, and I was able to decently control them for 6.
Might not be much for some, but for me this is a big win!
Will stick here till I get to the ceiling of my rep range then push for more load.
Shoutout to my boy @jjmanofsteel Thanks for the spot and piece of mind brother
Life after prep / what i’m up to now:
Originally, the plan was to compete in several small, regional shows through spring. I didn’t expect and think I’d even place as high as I did (much less the big NQ) so after the show, I kind of just decided to live a little. Definitely enjoying the extra food 😊 and the social life at work but also enjoying having the extra energy for my new training split which btw feels so damn good. *I am not done* and my season is still in progress but I’m kind of just allowing my body/mind to recover while I decide what to do next. I no longer have a reason to just blindly compete in random small shows anymore but at the same time the bigger, more important ones aren’t coming up for a few months. I’m keeping an eye on the 2020 schedule as it continues to roll out but tbh because I don’t have a clear date set in mind, it’s kind of difficult for me to zone in. I don’t mind the extra weight BUT I probably should calm tf a little before I blow up LOL
Same suit..different person? 🧐 The answer in short is YES. Only 10 weeks out from my next @wbffentertainment show and I will only continue to transform! Cutting for me has officially begun and I can’t wait to compete alongside the best of the best at this year’s California ProAm! Stay tuned as I am just getting started #transformationtuesday 😈💪🏼🙌🏼
Pulled up on my boys at @atl_stack for an overdue session with coach @a.p1305 🥊
Not gonna lie I been slacking on my diet these last cpl months & it’s starting 2 show. We’re human, sometimes we slip, but the most important thing is getting BACK on track and staying healthy. My secret #roast#porkbelly recipe isn’t a secret anymore!
•Whole Pork Belly
•Roasting Pan with rack
•A little bit of heat and some time!
•Score the fat cap
•Season both sides with seasoning
•Slather it in olive oil
•Put the roast on the rack in the pan and pour bees in the bottom
•Roast at 400* for 45-60 minutes or until it reaches an internal temp of 185*
425LBS/192.7kg for a set of triples today. I felt aight on squats, still not where I want to be but I can feel at least 520-530LBS for a new PR in a few months.
