The great example of Pinot Noir from Alto Adige.🍷We bought last bottle from this vintage🤭😁
Definitely seeing bud break across the entire vineyard, pinot as well as the chardonnay. The key to great wine is limiting the vigor of the plants, so we snap off most of the tiny buds to focus the growth through a few canes instead of bushing out all over. Less greenery, better fruit.

Getting so very EXCITED for Oregon! Six days baby, six days! 🤩🤩
Looking forward to my visit @brookswinery 🍇 In love with their Temperance Hill Pinot Noir from an 100-acre vineyard planted in Eola-Amity Hills back in 1981. Top tier cool climate site, remnants of an ancient volcano 🌋 Stunning Pinot Noir!
Much praise for Brooks Winery, passionate about organic and biodynamic farming, steadfast in sustainability and working to protect Earth and our ecosystem.
Ah the joys of technology!
Somehow, this photo ‘disappeared’ into ‘the iCloud’ and it’s one I took in NZ, so I was pretty darn miffed! Fortunately, it’s reappeared,(no idea how), like the glorious weather( most unlike an English bank holiday) and I’m happy, as this was a generous gift.
I’ll admit, I take these virtual storage areas for granted, until something goes missing.
Anyways, Pet Nat was something we were rather getting to enjoy in NZ and this was gorgeous.
Pinot Noir Pet Nat 2018. Hawke’s Bay.
Organic Pinot Noir. No additions, unfiltered, bottle fermented and hand disgorged.
Nose- red roses, red berries and water melon. Hints of sweet pastry dough. Think berry tarts. Strawberry tops and leaves.
Palate- Starts incredibly fresh with subtle fruits but as the fizz subsides the fruits grow in stature across the palate and on to the finish. Massively elegant and loaded with minerality. Red berries, cherry, red plum. Bone dry with energetic acidity and powerfully spritzed. It’s almost like this has been put through a soda stream machine. Lightly weighted fruits and body, fresh, bright and incredibly moreish, so much so you’ll need to swipe to picture 2 for the lovely colour.
