I've still be stuck on water based smoothies using grapefruit as a base. The combo of grapefruit, pineapples, and raspberries has become one of my top faves to drink! 😋😍 I don't think I'm gonna change up anytime soon. 🤷🏾♀️💚 I've been playing around with different combinations for awhile now.
Many of you have said you don't like grapefruit, and I didn't either until I started eating the BIG ones that are way less bitter! Those are the only ones that will work well for smoothies in my opinion! It makes a huge difference in the taste! 👌🏾👌🏾

Replacing eggs isn’t a sacrifice, just a substitute! Here’s a quick guide to share on your page to show friends and family that baking without eggs is simple and delicious 🥧🧁🥞🍪
Blue Spirulina Nice Cream by 💙 Recipe serves 2:
4 frozen ripe bananas
1 cup frozen mango
1/2 cup plant milk
2-3 tsp blue spirulina
🦋 If you are going to do a nice cream (a thick ice cream-like smoothie bowl like this) you will more likely succeed if you use a food processor OR a high speed blender (at least 1000W) with a tamper/stick.
Don’t add too much liquid, have patience, let it churn and become creamy even if you have to stop like 10 times to scrape the sides down or let air bubbles out from the bottom.

vegan spicy cauliflower burgers from @pinchofyum with a simple arugula salad
the recipe on the website isn’t vegan, but instead of egg, I used a “flax egg” and instead of dairy cheese I used daiya (which normally I hate, but when it’s mixed in, it doesn’t taste that bad)
the flavour of these burgers were 10/10 - everything about it, the magic green sauce, the cabbage slaw and the flavour from the cauliflower. although the flavour of these are amazing, these patties don’t stick well. I used to make these with egg and dairy cheese and even then, they didn’t stick together well - I found they actually stuck together better with the “flax egg”. i do prefer these burgers without a bun as well, because since they don’t stick that well together, they can be very messy!
• 3/4 cup uncooked quinoa
• 1 head cauliflower (about 6 cups florets)
• a few generous shakes of spicy seasoning – cumin, chili powder, cayenne, etc.
• 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
• 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
• 3/4 cup daiya shredded pepperjack cheese
• 5 “flax eggs”
• 1 1/2 teaspoon salt
roast cauliflower with spicy seasoning for about 20 mins at 400. transfer to a food processor and add all ingredients. form your patties - I made about 7 with mine.
magic green sauce:
• 1 avocado
• 1 cup packed parsley and cilantro leaves
• 1 jalapeño
• 2 cloves garlic
• juice of one lime
• 1/2 cup water
• 1/2 cup olive oil
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup pistachios
blend all ingredients together
• red cabbage, lime juice and salt and thats it!

It’s rare for me to want soup in Bali, but I’m obsessed with pumpkin lately. This one is so light and packed with Indian spices that it was perfect even in the humidity. Organic pumpkin, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, red peppers, garlic, ginger and onions from the @samadibali farmers market and a side of yummy rosemary sourdough from @starterlab.bali toasted with some olive oil, crushed raw garlic, and crushed pumpkin seeds. Spiced with turmeric, curry, cayenne pepper, sea salt, cumin and coriander. #omgyum#vegan#plantbased#soup#ayurveda#plantbaseddiet

Green smoothies 🥬
It’s really not difficult to reduce your waste when you’re out and about. I popped into the markets this morning and knew there’d be a chance of a delicious smoothie. So I came prepared!
This is my smoothie jar, which is just a wide-mouthed mason jar, @ecojarz lid and a stainless steel straw. Complete with a delicious green smoothie from @whole_and_some
Thank goodness for hump day 🙌
Working on your goals isn't always a straight forward process. As you can see, I have made a lot of progress on my physique. The first photo I was a teeny tiny human. I'm not going to lie, I loved how shredded my abs were but I lost a lot of muscle on my glutes and legs and was really unhappy with my body. Seeing my body change as I set a goal of gaining more muscle was challenging for me. I had to eat to grow and as I have spoken in the past this too can be quite a difficult process for me. I still miss my shredded abs but I am so proud that I didn't give up on my goal and have all the 🍑 gains. Don't give up 🙌

Suffering from inflammation? 🥵
Eczema, psoriasis, IBS, IBD, chronic infection, sinusitis, hayfever, arthritis, cancer, autoimmunity...?
Research shows that the consumption of 4 servings of legumes per week caused a dramatic 40% reduction of CRP levels within 2 months.‼️‼️
CRP is a plasma protein used to measure inflammation in the body. I literally request CRP on every single baby that I admit to the hospital to monitor infection.
So you can imagine,

Wednesday reminder: treating yourself is not about feeding your body 🍔🍟🍕🍭🍪🍩 those are not treats (yes I agree we all need to indulge sometimes, we all do it) but instead try to treat yourself to 🍎🍉🍒🥝🥬🥑 as often as possible 😉 your body will THANK you for it 🙏🏼

This week’s meal prep - black bean burger patties, with a side of baked sweet potato fries, and an avocado lime dipping sauce. 🥑
Tahini really gives a nice touch to your oatmeal. I’ve added it to the oats, but it’s just as nice to have it as a topping ✨🌾

📌1-2 ek almaecet
Menemani nasi merah @sekolahpagesangan, ada sayur pepaya bumbu rujak, pepes tahu, rendang jamur, sambal bawang dan lalap. .

Can’t get over the fact that I get to wear a chef’s uniform as an MD. It’s so rewarding to teach people how to easily prepare delicious food at home and then use this delicious food to transform their health and their lives.
I absolutely love the work our team is doing and feel so blessed that we’re able to do it. This is the ultimate in career satisfaction and it doesn’t feel one bit like work.
On that note, for those of you who haven’t heard, I’m very proud and excited to announce that as of this February, we have started a new plant-based cooking class in Antelope Valley that is open to the ENTIRE community, REGARDLESS of insurance status. Our classes cost $10 to attend (cheaper than a movie ticket!), which covers the cost of food and supplies. So far we have been selling out and have received very positive feedback.
During the class, we prepare and serve a large salad with two different dressings, two different entrees (usually in Instant Pots), and we prepare and serve plant-based ‘nice cream’ for dessert. We also leave plenty of time to share practical tips and answer questions. Attendees get to taste everything and go home with the recipes and the confidence that they can do this. Our plan is for our class to have a new menu every 3 months.
We’ve realized that a big barrier to overcome when it comes to getting people to eat healthier is to be able to show them how delicious the food can be, and how easy it can be to make. This class is starting to break down this barrier in our community and we couldn’t be more excited.
