Plant on video: Crassula Ovata Hobbit
It's not Shrek ears. It's the rare cousin.
Similar to Crassula Gollum. While the cultivar Gollum has leaves that are nearly tubular, Hobbit leaves are curled back around. (From: worldofsucculents.com)
You know its spring time when you see this sight all around the house. They look like little caterpillars, but the kind you like to see on your plants.
I've had this adansonii since about November last year and I've just never been able to make it flourish. Has never had more than a few leaves on it, have moved it from place to place, inside and out, and repotted it. These are heaps easier to find at nurseries now than a year ago so I could just buy another one but I want this guy to pull through and grow as fast as I know it should. Hopefully this spring/summer is its time!
What's a plant that you won't give up on even if its the easy option?
Let's do my #MonsteraMonday post right now. My babes are sleeping and it is a quiet time for me. .
My first #plantmail was a #monsteraadansonii narrow form. I got a rooted cutting for $32 with shipping. It was a great deal back then because these buggers were hard to find. It arrived with a healthy root system and some yellowing leaves. I thought okay, I can deal with that. But a few weeks later, it shriveled up and died. So I posted a plea to my local plant group for cuttings to trade with an interesting succulent. The lovely @yycplantmom stepped up and offered me cuttings and wanted nothing in return! Well, these are those cuttings now. I find the actual rooting part to be quite challenging but they are all alive!!! Thank you Ellie :)
This week my darling cat suddenly realized she's surrounded by plants and have decided to taste and touch everything within reach. One of these adventures involves her digging the soil out of my poor dracaena during the night. This is my crude solution - electrical tape. Does anyone else have this problem?? 🐈vs 🌴
This Monday doesn’t feel like blue but only green all over. I am still hung over with the trip. The beauty all around was truly mesmerising. I manage to get the cutting of wandering jew 🙊 or rather stole it. It was way too tempting 😬
Plant Shots from this weeks plant photo shoot that I did 😂 I was able to get through 50 plants! Now this week I’ll upload them to my website and code the page for them :) let’s aim for Friday ! ! ! 🙌🏽😎👑
