✩ LETS TALK WORKOUT ROUTINES ✩⁣
⁣
 Although I post different and “fun” workout variations (especially for legs) the MAJORITY of progress and “gains” I see are from the SAME movements, over and over. ⁣
⁣
The concept “dont do the same thing and  expect different results” is TRUE but only to a certain extent. As long as you are implementing progressive overload (continually adding weight or doing more reps) or a DUP (daily undulating periodization) style training you are going to see “different” results. Basic compound movements are the movements that are going to get you the best results! Movements like squats, deadlifts, hip thrusts, bench press etc. are the ones that you should concentrate on. ⁣

A VAST majority of my leg workouts follow the SAME plan every time: ⁣
-3 Compound movements: squats, some type of deadlift (sumo, conventional or RDL) and HIP THRUSTS ⁣
-1 or 2 “Accessories”: usually some type of lunge variation and another “fun” exercise ⁣
⁣
The set and rep range is different every time as well as the weight I use! We all need variation from time to time but if you wanna see the best results, doing the same workouts is sometimes what it takes!!! If you’re always doing new workouts every single time you’ll end up being “a jack of all trades but a master of none” in a sense! ⁣

P.S: Glute cable kickbacks, donkey kicks, resistance band and bodyweight exercises etc. are not the way to a nice 🍑 they H E L P and are beneficial but you can’t only do those and expect to have a huge butt in 3 months ⁣

I’ve been sick the last while so tonight I don’t think I could have been any happier - I got my mojo back👊🏻😂 This may be a small win for most but it was massive for me today. ☺️☺️

So this is a little reminder to all and myself when we get super critical on ourselves. Look around and do appreciate the simple small wins in the day because they are there waiting to be appreciated 😊❤️

  • I've changed my routine to a push, pull , leg days and I love the feeling, I'm super bloated from crap eating the last few days. I will get that in check today though! .
I have a wash day coming up for another interview tomorrow so will be using my go to for moisture, MORE moisture. Do you know which brand I could be hinting to?? Take a guess!

  • Real talk.

Sometimes you gotta take it easy. I consider going to the gym as self care, but it's also self care when you need to take a break from it for a while, especially when you need to take care of an injury.
After about a 4 month break, I finally went back to the gym in August...only to have to take another 2 week break due to going too hard & hurting myself. Again.
For those who don't know, I have plantar fasciitis in my feet and it's SUPER painful when I over exert myself or do too much physical activity without proper rest. So I learned that I can't go at my normal speed and I need to work my way up to that again. And that's okay. It's frustrating, but it's life🤷🏻‍♀️ Moral of the story: if you have to slow down or can't do things at the rate you normally would and are frustrated about it, don't be. It's okay. Take your time, you'll get there eventually. 
Ok, thanks for reading my not-so-inspirational inspirational #instagram caption. Now I'm off to take my own advice for once✌🏻

    Sometimes you gotta take it easy. I consider going to the gym as self care, but it's also self care when you need to take a break from it for a while, especially when you need to take care of an injury.

Also lighting in the gym I'm going to sucks so, alas, must learn to live without the gym selfie douche baggary for the moment.
