This view will never get old. Nearly 26 years ago I said YES...to all this and so much more. I wouldn’t change it for the world. BUT (yeah, there’s always a big but isn’t there?) For someone who is a social butterfly the isolation of this beautiful piece of heaven can be rough sometimes.
I worked my last day in corporate America 36 miles away from here on 7/7/95 and delivered our first child on 7/8...I’ve never been back to work outside of the home. We made the decision for me to be a SAHM and to home educate our children...a decision for which I’m thankful for every single day😃
But I struggled. My primary love language is words of affirmation and while still employed that language was spoken to me often. I’d get promotions, I’d get raises, I’d get recognition, AND I had friendships. As with most relationships, my husband doesn’t speak the same language as me, and my love tank was running low😂, and I missed my friendships. (Think LBFB...life before FaceBook😊) I was blessed to spend the next 23 years raising and teaching three amazing humans (my youngest just finished his first year of college). So many laughs, so many memories, and so much love has been shared.
As a chapter ends in the lives of my children, so one ends in mine. I’m developing friends with an amazing group of people whom I get to interact with everyday (even if they live in Massachusetts, Florida, or Malaysia😊) I’m receiving those rank advancements, earning those “raises”, and receiving that recognition (think free trips to Mexico, cruise to the Bahamas, AND Punta Cana coming up next year)...all because I said YES again.

Have you given yourself quiet time to reflect on all your blessings and be grateful?
If not take the time, even 5 minutes because it will change your outlook on life, it will turn your mindset to positivity and that will trickle down from the Universe around you.
Start out the week with a #positivemindset , look around you and focus on the things in life you are GRATEFUL for... SMILE you’ll be amazed at what a smile will do for someone, even someone you don’t know... Practice the PAUSE take time to listen to your heart, what God is telling you and BREATHE.... My biggest challenge is always letting go of what I can’t control 🤦♀️ I tend to want to fix things or feel like if I do.... I can change it or make a difference... Life doesn’t always work that way.

If I can heal, I will find the way.
If I can love others to help them heal, I will try. They will remember me. And hopefully if they can’t give me love back, they will give it to themselves and maybe someone else in their lifetime. Be love, heal. .
Thinking mind and judgment of ourselves and others has conditioned us to believe that a step back is regressive. It’s not. Life is a dance, and every step we take takes us somewhere else.
So, during the biggest storms of my life, I’ve tried to remember that my step backwards was my cha-cha through this dance routine. Growth, learning, resiliency. You are always capable ♥️
My most vulnerable moments involved my bravest self. Times when my wounds felt ripped open, I felt so open. My old instincts came flooding back. Callous yourself, I’d think. “I don’t care”, I’d think to myself. .
But I did care. I loved. I felt. I hurt.
It’s hard to exist in a world where everyone reinforces the survival tactic to put up walls, push people away, and deny our true selves and our feelings.
Be brave. Resist the urge to turn away. Be courageously open. Most people are avoiding their own pain. They will wish a thousand pennies to be as open as you. Be a torch bearer. Show people you can be shattered and still care and love. Be Love ♥️ take no shit, do no harm
Don’t waste energy in directions it’s not reciprocated. Wether personal, business, jobs, co-workers, drivers on the highway, anyone around you. Distractions are designed to throw you off track... If you catch yourself off track practice the pause, breathe, evaluate, prune what doesn’t work, keep what does, and continue pushing forward!

Every month, I host a Coffee & Oils or 2. It is down time for me. I keep an ever lasting 'to-do' list. I invite anyone who needs a pause. We have talked about anything and everything and have shared laughs. I bring the oils to smell. It is just an awesome moment that I look forward to it.
Last month, I offered a small, earth day themed item and it was great. Just a little gift caused so much joy! I thought, maybe I could do it regularly.
So this month, I decided since we were honoring women, specifically mothers, I would share something I love. I made these Index cards to put my favorite face serum recipe on. I wasn't feeling the plain, lined index cards that I have all over the house.

Universal truth, most answers are simple!
We are all so busy, rushing and racing, reminders going off on our phones, to do lists for work and home, birthdays to remember, appointments to remember, car tax to renew.......and on and on it goes.
We are overloaded with the busyness of life. We bring that frantic air to all the environments we inhabit, we can pass it onto those around us. The frantic pace brings an adrenaline all of its own. The trouble is that when we stop, for example, go on a weekend away or a holiday people can feel exhausted. You can develop a sore throat or a cold. So our much needed break comes and goes and does not provide us with the joy and recharge we much needed.
So we all, myself included, need to practice the pause. During the day, during the week, the weekends, leave a space to just Pause. On your tea break, lunch break, at home in the evening just take a few moments just for you, to sit quietly. I work my body so hard. AND I LOVE IT. But sometimes I’m focusing so much on making my BODY healthy and strong that I forget that my MIND needs the same.
The other day I had just a few spare minutes while waiting for Man Cub to get ready for school. I would typically grab my phone and scroll mindlessly through the internets, but on this day I found a patch of sunshine and sat. I closed by eyes then focused on my breath. And I did nothing else.
It’s in these moments I find the most clarity, some peace amongst the chaos, and even a bit of ease in my stress and anxiety levels. I try to practice letting my mind rest on one thing rather than the bajillion thoughts that typically run rampant through my mind in any given moment. Just my breath, in and out.
When in doubt, pause. ⠀
When you don't know what to do, do nothing. ⠀
When you can't do anything else, breathe.⠀
When you can't hear above the noise, be still.⠀

This week’s tip: SLOW DOWN. You don’t have to exaggerate your speech, but racing through a conversation with someone with hearing loss will decrease understanding and increase frustration! So...it’s not just a watch, folks🤷🏼♀️ It symbolizes so much more. I bought it for myself (a little to me from me Mother’s Day present) with money I worked hard to earn.
For most of our adult life we had been a single income family. Raising three kids and enthusiastically taking on the extra expenses of a home educating family living off and agriculture based income. There wasn’t a lot of money for extra anything. So to be able to treat myself to something I truly “wanted” without feeling like I was taking the money from some “need” category feels amazing.
And better yet, I’ve been able to share this feeling with the coaches on my team too. Maybe it’s a tank of gas, grocery money, utility bills, or paying their car payment...my ladies are finding financial freedom in small ways AND big ways.

It’s so hard to stay grounded, inspired and focused on spiritual growth when “real” life grabs you by the neck for a reality check. Anxiety, stress and fear can take over and sidetrack us away from what we know is the healing, nurturing and fertile path for growth... we must be able to put aside the demands of life, even if only for a few minutes each day, and water the soul with silence, or a single-focus practice that allows for a sort of self-regrouping... so we can remember our why, and see what’s in our heart. Breathe, remember, and be compassionate, this too shall pass. 💖

I’ve been sharing most of my sweat sessions over on my stories now, but when you’ve had a great activity day, you need to celebrate it.
Got in my bike ride, lift session, and mowed the lawn with my push mower today (only way to go by the way✌🏻) I finally had a chance to soak up some Vitamin D😎 today! And it was so needed.
A beautiful start to a beautiful new week.

We don’t have a useful word for caring for the self. We have been conditioned to think that selfish is a bad thing. We would be best suited to unlearn the notion that caring for ourselves somehow always comes second...or even last! It doesn’t! It should not.
We can’t pour from an empty cup, right? So when we replenish ourselves fully and wholly, we can then give away what is extra for free with no guilt. True altruism. We are our best selves when we are recharged and clear.
Self care is really about giving ourselves PERMISSION to carve out time to love and care for the self. Do something that brings us joy, or is mindful, healthy, or even that lets us pause and breathe. I tell many clients to find 5 minutes a day to start. Just 5 minutes! To sit, breathe, stretch, garden, sleep, even scroll or vacuum! Start small and get in the habit of actively participating in your own self-care!

We all have baggage 🧳. And it tends to show up at inopportune times. Like when we falsely interpret the tone of a text from our S.O. or an email from our CEO📧 The trigger pushes the hot button🧨, the knee jerks + the cray-cray comes out🥴⠀

The things we carry on a daily basis aren’t new – they have roots that go back years & have created conditioned behaviors that are so ingrained, we’re not even aware how deeply they taint our vision 👓⠀

When we hit pause, we step back & observe ourselves from the perspective of a butterfly on the wall 🦋 Our friendly witness shines a light💡on the deep-rooted fears & insecurities that drive our behaviors🔎+ asks us to do an honest audit of past outcomes — how has this worked out for us before?⠀
When we step outside our head, we can zoom in 🎯+ vet all the possible choices we have in a given moment. We can assess objectively + say “not today”🤚to the baggage.⠀
Truth – when we face it – gifts us the chance to change.⠀
Next time your anger flares up, acknowledge it, then change the channel. Do the opposite of what you’d normally do. It may seem strange at first to thank the bad-attitude-barista, but notice how different you’ll feel smiling 😀 vs. fuming😤. Everyone is going through something.⠀
Mindfulness weaves wisdom & grace into how we live our daily lives so we can handle the blows & catch the curveballs w/dignity + equanimity. ⠀
