  • I normally don't make posts like this, but I've been thinking about stuff for a while and looking into a few things. I finally made a linktr.ee (which can be found in my bio). It includes my paypal (if anyone wants a commission or to simply donate since I can't get my ko-fi to link properly), my Amazon Wishlist, my Archive of Our Own, a document of writing samples for anyone interested in my writing commissions ($1/100 words), as well as a store to sell prints. I've been interested in selling prints for a while, and finally, I did something about it! I am planning several more things to get more content up there, but I hope you all enjoy what I have so far. Thank you for all your support thus far! I look forward to what the future holds! ❤❤

  • When I first created this painting I was in a place of transition letting go and learning who I really was. I wasn’t sure what that looked like but I knew it would take work. Was I fully ready to emerge in the process? Honestly i’m not quite sure if I was. But I wanted to Learn to love my self. I didn’t know what that even looked like at that time. She represents that place in my life. It is a dark place but for anything to be healed it needs to be brought to light. That window (repersenting hope) was placed in the room of brokenness, betrayal, loneliness and disappointments. Her bare body repersents vulnerability. She decided the spirit inside her needed to live. She was determined to make every step forward count even if it hurt. That takes strength, vulnerability, courage and patience. She meet her maker in that room. She was introduced to her authentic self in that space. She learned who she was and why she was created. Learning to love herself was a beautiful and painful experience. But she left that room a strong motivated woman. The colours used speak life and purpose. The colour of her skin represents the resilience of the black woman in my circle. I wanted to display the beauty of what I get to see around me every day. As well as how that helped me see myself. As I walked my process of healing.
I started the process of my healing a year before hand and I started this painting the summer of 2015 and I finally decided to finish it off March of 2019. So I hope the beauty of this painting can have more meaning, as you look at it. As it does for me. I call this piece “Her Window Of Freedom”

I also want to let you guys know I will be making prints. I will be announcing the type of prints available soon. So keep any eye out. DM me if interested! #womanindesign #strongwomen #healing #paintingoftheday #prints #canvaspainting #womanempowerment
