Rolled through the #daytonhamvention2019 and saw a TON of cool stuff but only took a few things home. Kinda hard to pass up a two channel mic pre that will work good for reamping. Picked up a bag of surplus #radioshack items too. And why not put a #crosswalk sign next to the traffic light in the basement? There was a Tascam 134 that I barely missed but not even sure if it worked, so no sour grapes.
This isn't a beer post-. Background sound is 1969 Mick Ronson on a Gibson Les Paul and a Marshall stack.
What's your preference?
An English-Made Marshall stack. Or maybe a Fender Blues Breaker or Super Reverb.
I remember a few years back with the help of #fenderamps and #radioshack I rewired my Uncle's 1971 Fender Super Reverb that kept shorting out. And man when I plugged in for the first time and gave it a pick, that crispiness of tone pricked my ears. But 10 minutes in when the tubes warmed and the circuits were all being travelled it hummed like honey and a pissed off bumblebee. What an entrancing sound and feel reverberating in my hard wood floors.
#recordoftheday Frank Sinatra "Ring-A-Ding-Ding" Reprise #Records 1961 #LP#vinyl pressing As I get older, I realize the importance of Sinatra as an artist and trendsetter in design, recording and music technology. Not only was he monumentally prolific, but always used the best studios, equipment and recording techniques. His albums were available in #stereo while most artists were still doing mono into the mid-60s. Note the #RadioShack price tag in the upper left corner, too.
