#WeldingWednesday Flash-butt welding rail in-track on transit properties presents unique challenges. Luckily, our welding technology aimed at the transit market can install flash-butt welds, including closure welds, within the clearance of most third rail electrified systems.
I just keep finding incredible things in this deep collection! In the process of developing plans for a new gallery called “Art of the Everyday: Still Life and Genre Painting”, I stumbled on this classic of the latter art form I’d never seen before, even though it has been here since 1925: John Whetton Ehninger, ‘The Yankee Peddler’, 1858. This will go into that gallery for sure, an explicitly nostalgic (note the revolutionary era flag and dress) depiction of a formerly common country phenomenon of the enterprising New Englander who connected rural markets to urban manufacturers before the railroad.
