On 1/17/18 Storm was surrendered to @nycacc, with the surrender reason “animal health — will need ongoing vet care.” A volunteer wrote: “After her owner left, and once she was by my side for a few minutes, she allowed me to pet her and carry her into the kennel.” 😭😭😭😭
She was labeled at-risk, “may have kidney or renal disease,” and was found to be fearful in the shelter. At about 3 years old, she was placed on the kill list within days.
This is one of her intake photos. I will be posting her story all week, leading up to her #adoptaversary ❤️❤️💔💔💔💔💔

Mork says Thank you for all the love!
He is awake after his CT scan and endoscopy with the wonderful @smartapproachvet and team but since there seems to be partial laryngeal collapse, we decided to postpone surgery until we figure out the best way to deal with it.
Please keep the love coming for an easy recovery and for us to get to the root of all his issues and help him get healthy and happy.

What is it about this guy that drives us all mad? You felt it too, right? That somersault sensation where you sort of assume your spleen might be? That ghost fingers on your scalp, tingling in the back of your brain thing? Just looking at this 12-week-old Husky mix gives us the ASMR feels. Spending time with him sends us into an alternate reality. Because he's amazing. Truly and totally out of this world. Ludlow is easy going, social and friendly. He loves other dogs and is eager to learn, explore, and interact with his humans. He's quick on the uptake and athletic. Also kind and well behaved even at such a young age. He'll probably be in the 50s or 60s weight wise full grown, and he'll need to join an active family where he'll get lots of exercise and training to keep his growing mind and body fit. His foster mom says: "It’s gonna be so tough saying goodbye to Ludlow, He’s is the sweetest boy. It’s been such a joy having him around. He’s already potty trained and he lets me know when he needs to use the bathroom by going up the stairs and waiting patiently so I can open the door. He uses wee pads when I’m running errands, and not only that but he surprisingly knows that his bully sticks and chew toys are the only thing he’s allowed to destroy and teeth on. Most puppies tend to rip and nibble everything they see, but so far not Ludlow. He’s definitely mature for his age. He sleeps throughout the entire night, which was shocking since I figured he would get up in the middle of the night but nope! He sleeps on his bed next to mine. I was hoping he would come hop into my bed eventually, but he seems to know the difference between my bed and his and I wake up to find him in the same spot I left him. I really started to shed tears as we played, He’s so special." Interested in adopting? Hubba hubba! Looking for a new squeeze before Valentine’s day then check out my new favorite boyfriend at South LA Shelter, Polo #A1914282 , a handsome 2 yrs old. He’s medically alerted so the shelter would like to see him get out to see a vet and receive further treatment. Polo was hit by a car and has been recovering since he arrived back in early December. Although shelter records say he’s been favoring his back right leg, this past Sunday he seemed to putting full weight on it. Still some TLC is in order for this sweet and endearingly smushy dude. My kind of guy! You won’t be able to resist him!
