Your home is one of the best places to have your baby milestone session. It's a familiar environment where your cutie pie is most comfortable and they feel free to roam...and then we end up with photographs like this. A timeless portrait that will forever help this family remember just how small he once was. Because it won't be long now before this little guy is running up and down those same stairs. ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #blackandwhitefilm#happy12months#richardphotolab
Lathon // Lifestyle Senior // “Success is not final , failure is not fatal ; it’s the courage to continue that counts.” Winston Churchill when I work with a Senior I think of all the opportunity ahead of them and all the failures they will face. Looking back on my own life, I realize having the courage to push through the failures really is what counts. Never give up! @lathon.d.king#seniorpictures@seniorguysstyle#seniorstyleguide
Virginia House - Richmond, VA | I’ve shared this beautiful house before but here it is again! Not only am I obsessed with the boxwood garden and stone exterior, I’m drawn to those windows!! The pattern and the way they capture light differently... 😍 I almost imagine that it’s the home of a Disney princess or some royal in Europe. You would never suspect it tucked up in a neighborhood in RVA!

We met Ty & Jenna in Brooklyn and explored the city together, followed up with the best dinner ever. What’s better than getting to know each other before your wedding day? Pentax 645N on Kodak Portra 400. #richardphotolab#kodak#film
Two trees that stopped me in my tracks this season - totally different, yet both beautiful. Each reminded me of a favorite quote from Peter Levine, founder of Somatic Experiencing, about healing: “When a young tree is injured it grows around that injury. As the tree continues to develop, the wound becomes relatively small in proportion to the size of the tree. Gnarly burls and misshapen limbs speak of injuries and obstacles encountered through time and overcome. The way a tree grows around its past contributes to its exquisite individuality, character, and beauty. I certainly don't advocate for traumatization to build character, but since trauma is almost a given at some point in our lives, the image of the tree can be a valuable mirror.” I have some daytime + evening openings for Somatic Experiencing in the coming weeks if you are interested in growing. Email for more info or book using my calendar in the bio. 🌱

Film shot of the client's living area. There are a few things vying for attention here like the sweet painting of bumble bees, the paisley pillow, the fireplace surround, the fireplace interior, the wood ceiling beams....but it appears to my untrained eye that plant is the real show-off. ⠀

There’s so much beauty in this world from the lush tropical landscapes to the sandy desert with spectacular mountain view’s. If you haven’t traveled much outside of your state or country, you need to put that on your to do list, because it will change the way you feel! Last year was the first time we went out west and experienced the desert air in Albuquerque and then in Palm Springs + Joshua Tree. The altitude took some getting used to, but we hadn’t seen anything like that before and it truly took our breath away. It made me appreciate this earth we live in that much more. #happyearthday
Mother Earth photographed on #acros100#35mm on #nikonf100 with the #nikkor85mm 1.8 L lens. I only had this setup for a few months but as per usual, the second I sold it I kinda regretted it because I’m both Marie Kondo’s worst nightmare and best client. I always regret selling film cameras- even from disuse. They’re the tools with which I love on and remember the beauty around me. They’re also expensive, break easily, and they’re expensive. It’s a love hate relationship. Art. #filmisnotdead#richardphotolab
🌸Happy Earth Day🌸
I hope you got/get the chance to spend some time outside today! It was a really lovely day in Richmond today that I couldn’t help but repeat another gorgeous day outside before it starts getting too hot out this summer!
One of my favorite things is people watching to see how other people are enjoying the day. There was a girl eating watermelon and reading, a man with his eye closed soaking in the sun on a bench, a family pushing a stroller... all ages... all types... enjoying the same day☀️

I will miss this temple when it’s closed for 4 years! Although I am looking forward to spending more time on temple grounds I haven’t been yet. 😊
• @cassidygundersen was one of those laid back chill brides who trusted me to do my thing. I love that! She has a cookbook out right now and I’ve loved trying her healthy, healing recipes. Check her out!
Just got film scans back from the prettiest spring engagement session! We spent the afternoon wandering around @djam44 family’s land stopping here and there to take pictures and it was such a beautiful day!

Richmond, Virginia | This corner house reminds me of a home in Notting Hill or something! I love walking around this part of town - I find so many things to be beautiful in my own “backyard.”
