This is why we still ride.
A year ago our owner Scott Elliott was preparing to start treatment for lymphoma. For years, Scott assembled bikes as the foundation of his other business — Economy Care Assemblers — but, he hadn’t really been on a bike to ride for years.
Enter his longtime friend and lover of bikes — Christopher Spann. Christopher gifted Scott with a bike and reignited his love to ride. One of Scott’s goals — to ride again after treatment.
The gift a year ago fired up a newfound love for BMX cruisers. And most recently, led to the creation of Holy Rollers United.
Today, Christopher came to check out the shop. In it, he found a special sort of gift.
A 29” GT Performer cruiser. Not just any bike.
Cut to 1980-something and baseball- playing young Christopher with a chunk of change in his wallet to cover expenses for an out of town championship ball game. He saved every bit of that money, came home, bought himself a 20” GT Performer bike and tossed his glove. Same black frame. Same pink and blue logo. The same bike remade.
The best old memories, making new ones. All the desires of these guys’ hearts. #holyroller#rollholy#gt#gtperformer#newbikes#vintagebikes#bikeshop#ride#praypedalpush#cycle#bike#bicycle#arkansas#bmx#cruiser#bmxbikes#bmxlife@spanncollective@menziespann
