This necklace was a symbol. It not only symbolizes the rose windows of Notre Dame.”; but furthermore. It was stolen by the thieves together with a lot of memories 1,5 years ago.
Memoires were stolen but thanks god, memories stay.
Working for a French company for years, I felt in love with the rose Windows and started vlslting Notre Dame each time I visited Paris. In one of those visits, my daughter and husband joined me. Only two weeks following our vacation was my birthday. And, my birthday present was this marvelous necklace that made me cry; being so surprised and touched by heart having them arranged such a present and keeping this as a secret until my birthday.
Whenever I recall that robbery, this is one of the first few that I remember and my heart aches.
Today I feel a different ache, with a lot of appreciation and gratitude, I feel sorrow.
I appreciate the gifts , the feelings that I left through this very speacial monument; and I bow my gratitudes.
I remember the fire in Haydarpasa , and I feel sorrow.
This heritage belongs to us all and thus. Whatever is burning, it is us that is burning.
I am here, I see u🙏🏼❤️ #collective#heritage#weshare#mupics#sorryforourloss#inlakesh#alakin#paris#istanbul#world#universe#iledefrance
🐝 Holy Honeybees of Notre Dame Survived!
While the world mourns the devastating fire that engulfed much of the Notre Dame Cathedral in France, some good news was just reported to off set this incredible loss. Believe it or not, three
honeybee hives housing 180,000 bees survived the inferno on the roof of the sacristy, the only part of the roof not destroyed in the fire.
The hives were installed in 2013 to assist in addressing the plight of pollinators affected by global devastation of honeybee hive collapse syndrome. The beekeeper feared for the worst in the aftermath of the blaze, only to see drone footage of his three hives a buzz with activity the day after the fire was finally extinguished.
This is the glimmer of sweetness amid all this devastating destruction & loss of a historical treasure.
Perhaps this was just an example of fate or perhaps a glorious example of Divine intervention. Who really knows??? But what can be stated without a doubt is this is a lovely example of resilience against all
odds accessing cooperation, family & community working together to survive. Now, let’s apply that
same ‘bee logic’ to rebuilding this historic relic to its full glory, just like the bees…!🐝 .
