  • It’s been since this race when I ran in as humid of weather as I did today in Atlanta! 😅😅😅
*
One of the best things about running is not matter where your work takes you, the ability to maintain training is still there. Being on the eastern time zone now, I am having to get up at 2am my time to@get the runs in 😞😕
*
This is not something my body is used to so this week it’s all about making sure the mileage are in and focus on my hard workout this weekend. It may not be ideal as i am rounding out my training plan for Chicago, but I also do not want to miss my workouts. *
Running is special like this. It just takes heart and determination. As long as your shoes fit in your bag (which they always should 😜) you can still train!! Another humid one tomorrow! #teamultra

  • 16 WEEKS OUT FROM 26.2🥳 ⁣⁣⁣

Training for the @philly_marathon is officially here and I. AM. STOKED!!! My first full was one of the best experiences I’ve had in my life thus far and I am SO excited to come back to this distance in my new city. As excited as I am for the race, I could say the same about the grind of the training itself. Ready to get after it this cycle - bring on the strength work, longer runs, higher mileage, and of course, hungrier Emily 🍕🍕🍕 Let’s get it!!

  • Week 13 Half marathon training long run... Behind on wknd run. It's really week 14.

Toughest. Training. Run. Yet. I know, I know. I keep saying that, but these long runs are HARD and no one feels what your body feels. These long runs are not getting any easier and I don't know how I got to the end tonight. It helps when you have someone by your side. Thanks @corradozen.
.
.
But even still, I was super emotional. I was so mad, sad, and frustrated at the same time. I had to stop many times and walk a lot for me. I have worked so incredibly hard to fight through challenges but the reality is, my body is not meant for long distance runs, and that's okay. I don't know what it is. It could be my joints. I have gone through hell and high water trying to fix my issues but when I fix one, I end up with another. I think I fixed my toenail issue but now my insoles are not thick enough and my legs hurt the after mile 4. I am going to try one more long run with the metatarsal pads and my other insoles that I felt stable on. If that does not go well, I'm done. It is what it is and I have to be okay with it. I can't continue to feel that amount of pain while running. It's not worth it especially if it were to cause any long-term damage or injury. I realize that a lot of it is a mental game, but when you are physically in pain, it's really hard to finish a run.

  • Out my comfort zone 3 times this week topping it off with a run with the world famous Haddies tonight! I know I soooo have to run faster and by running with this super speedy lot of amazing athletes might make my ass move a bit quicker! 🤣 I should have known not to go tonight as it was in my home town of Pittenweem which is nothing but ‘Wynds’ - no way out but up steep hills 😳well out of puff 💥

  • Készülés a Maratonra! 💯🏃
U.i :
Sosem voltam még ennyire motivált és kitartó, mint most!

  • I Run Because………🏃‍♂️ By Sara Leggott “My first experience of running was the Race for Life. I’ve always enjoyed taking part in the event but that was about the extent of my running. Then 6 years ago things changed when I lost my Dad to Melanoma.
It all happened so very quickly, we had a week from diagnosis to when he died. The grief I felt following his death was like a tidal wave of loss.
On Sunday 7th July 2013 I had planned to run the Race for Life with my friend but then came the news about Dad. I wasn’t going to run as this was only two days after Dad had passed away. I had gone along to watch and support my friend, but then just before the start something took over and I put my trainers on and ran.
After that I carried on running, it was hard, I stopped at the same quiet place each time allowing myself to cry, look to the sky and embrace the great loss I felt. Running became my time to think, cry, escape and grieve.
I then joined a running club, made friends and in time decided to run a marathon. Since then I’ve run 7 marathons all for charity and all in Dads memory. Marathon number 8 will be in Tokyo in March 2020. This will be the 6th World Major Marathon. I will then receive a medal that only a few thousand people in the world have achieved.
I can’t wait to achieve this but the greater achievement is getting through the last 6 years without my Dad. This medal will show what I’ve achieved through great loss, and I’m pretty sure Dad would be proud.” A big thank you to Sara for sharing what is clearly a very emotional story. Also for how running has helped support her through a very difficult period of her life. I’m sure we all wish her luck in Tokyo and that her dad would be incredibly proud of what she has achieved both with and without her running shoes.

  • ⚡️Journey to Sub-3 ⚡️
As I embark on this new training cycle towards this big scary goal of mine, I really wanted to share the challenges an average runner faces in pursuit of a huge goal. The sacrifices it takes to get there, balancing training with life, the tear fests when it gets hard AF. All of it. So I’ve put together a @youtube series and my first video is up today! I’ll be sharing a new video every couple of weeks recapping training, taking you along on my workouts, and talking about all the things I’m doing to achieve a sub-3 hour marathon. I’ve linked the video in my profile 👆🏼. Check it out and let me know if there’s something specific you guys are interested in hearing about along the way!

  • Hi! Happy Hump Day! I’ve had a busy few weeks running and crossfitting! What been keeping me busy beyond work, running, and CrossFit? Well, we got a PUPPY!! She’s a medium #goldenmountaindoodle (half golden doodle, half bernedoodle) and her name is Clarabelle! She’s currently 10 weeks old and resides here on IG as @clarabelledoodle ! Go on and give her a follow and swipe left to see a picture of arguably the cutest puppy you’ve ever seen! 🐶
