  • Just keep grinding✨ You’re going to be thankful months from now for the work you put in today. Sometimes it’s hard to keep your eye on the prize. That’s why I normally like to race frequently, so that my goals are never too far away. But, how do you keep focused when you are injured, and it’s not clear if you will even be able to run your goal race? I’ve struggled with this a bit lately. Here is what I know: I should be able to run again in 2-4 weeks assuming I heal as expected. I am currently signed up to run NYC Marathon, CIM, and the Miami Half. I’m flexible with my goals, and at this point my A goal is to be able to run/walk NYC and possibly be fully trained for CIM. But, if I’m not healed, NYC might be out of the question and who knows about CIM. I have shifted my focus in training to build the strongest, healthiest body that is ready to run when the time is right. This means doing things I really do not want to do: I’m talking to you, planks. According to my PT, I need to strengthen my core (ugh), loosen the heck up with some yoga (double ugh), continue to strengthen my glutes (easy), and cycle/swim to maintain my cardiovascular fitness (😃). That’s a lot when you think about it! But, if I do it, and put in the work now, I’m going to come out the other side a much happier, healthier runner. And this girl is in it for the long run. So it’s time to put in some WORK. I’m all in. 👊🏼

  • Baby David and I did our longest walk today!

We both are adapting to each other so most of the time it’s all good ( I hope I don’t jinx myself 😬). Still a bit colicky but I’m seeing better days now.
.
I’m also super excited that my body has been feeling amazing and soon I’ll start working out again. Still don’t know when I’ll start but I’m hoping within the next couple of weeks.
.
I keep thinking ok next Monday I’ll start and then I keep telling myself one more week 🤭so we will see when it happens. Oh and by the way, I really thought that it was going to be easy to leave the house but it turns out it’s not 😂, so hubby is going to buy me a treadmill (WOOO HOOO)! I’ve always wanted one but truly there was no need for it and now we have the perfect reason to invest in one! I’m so excited and I can’t wait to start my running journey again.

  • 🇺🇸Playing around lolol .... what a way to have fun. Sometimes you have to train HARD and sometimes you have to train SMART....!!! In 4 days I will be racing the North America Championship Spartan Race @spartan against the best Spartan Racers from Mexico, Canada and North America in West Virginia. I will be running my first BEAST of the year ( 13 miles/ 21 km plus 30 obstacles) What a race Señores, can’t be more excited!!!! And VAMOS CON TODO, VENEZUELA REPRESENTANDO 🇻🇪🇻🇪🇻🇪🎾.
🇻🇪En 4 días estaré compitiendo en el Campeonato de América del Norte en West Virginia, donde estaré enfrentando a los mejores corredores de carreras espartanas de Mexico, Canadá y Estados Unidos , una carrera bastante larga 13 millas o 21 km y más de 30 obstaculos .   • Some friends and I created a running group based around a positive mental attitude for each other and the goals we wish to achieve. It’s called The Running Riot, we have a group page started on facebook (link in bio) and if you are interested in running let us help spark that fire.

With this being said we have our inaugural group run at the end of this month and it would be rad to have you join us. Join the facebook group for more details and jump in the discussions there.

The time has come to organize the first ever group run! This will be a very casual run, at conversation pace no faster than 8:45 minute miles. We will meet at Verve Coffee on Bronson St. (The one off of Seabright) at 8:30am sharp. From there we will run to the Pleasure Point restrooms and back. The run will be 7.0 miles exactly and I have mapped it here:
