  • Running tomorrow completely and totally for the joy of running- no goals, just smiles! I’ve never raced a 35k, so at least I know I’ll snatch a PR. 😉 #flatrunner

  • One of the best things about running is that I get to share it with my best friend. Zach is my biggest supporter and he is always at the finish line of every race I run. Just knowing that he will be waiting at the finish helps me get through the tough parts of every race. I’m so glad we both got to run Boston this year!

  • WOW!! I am completely overwhelmed and grateful for all the love and comments from this IG running community!! 💛💛💛 Thank you for following along on my Boston journey! •
Boston was such a cool experience. I knew going in I wasn’t going to PR, but I was sure going to give it my all. The hills started at 1k into the race and then by mile 11 the sun out in full force. So I just hung on the best I could. •
It’s strange knowing that my final marathon is over and behind me. But what a way to end it! I’m looking forward to running short and fast this summer and see just how speedy I can get in the 5k and 10k distance •

  • A perfect setting for 8 pain free recovery miles. It's so important to know what kind of injuries you can run through and what injuries need to be handled on the sidelines. Typically skeletal injuries (bone bruises, stress reactions, stress fractures etc.) HAVE to be taken care of through time off your feet. However, there are muscular bumps and bruises that you almost have to work through. Sure time off helps, in fact I usually have a 72 hour rule - if you take 72 hours off and it starts to recover then you are probably in the clear to run easy and work through it... But if not; then time off is most likely necessary. Remember it's usually not a great idea to self diagnose... But with this knowledge in your toolbelt, it should help you navigate these training pitfalls. Go see a PT who works with Athletes and runners, typically they will try everything in their knowledge to help you work through something.

  • Consistency is key... You either run or you don’t. There is no try... Keep crushing it in silence with a smile on your face 😊🏃‍♂️

  • I WASN’T A NATURAL AT RUNNING… 👉🏽I ran one year in high school & was SHIN SPLINTS CITY (—>stress fracture).
.
👉🏽I would get SO nervous that I couldn’t eat the afternoon of a run.
.
👉🏽My pace for a finals 3200 track race was 8:45/mile & I finished close to last at all my XC & Track races.
.
👉🏽I ran 6:08 for my first marathon in 2002.
.
👉🏽I didn’t run for ten years after that first marathon.
.
👉🏽Didn’t work out for the majority of that time & partied instead.
.
👉🏽Never had anyone tell me - you can do this- or you have any talent in this.
.
⚡️⚡️⚡️But BELIEF CHANGES THINGS.
.
⚡️I changed my life & began running at 29.
.
⚡️Decided to aim for Boston.
.
⚡️Met @tunderface who went from 4:10 to 2:18 & believed I could have a similar CRAZY trajectory.
.
⚡️Now, I’m putting in the work, believing that Sub 3 & MORE is next.
.
It starts FIRST in your mind. Then you work & believe. And then you start seeing the results. Don’t let lack of experience, where you are today, what others have say you can do affect how you dream.
.
If I can do it… WHY CAN’T YOU????!🙌🏽

Sharing more of my story + run journey over on @lindseyhein626 “I’ll Have Another” Podcast. She is an INCREDIBLE host & it was a total honor for her to ask me on it. ❤️I hope that listening to it encourages you to push for more for yourself. Never sell yourself short. Life & your dreams are YOURS for the taking. If it lights a fire in your heart, go chase it! You don’t have to be a natural at running (or ANYTHING, for that matter!) to pursue it & see wild success! You were meant to live a big life- don’t let anything keep you from going for it. If you want to change your life, if you want to chase a goal, START NOW. It’s NEVER too late!❤️

  • Post Portland Trip Run the next day. Schedule says 32K, but with the food I ate at Portland, 17K would be more fitting 😂. 2 weeks till @bmovanmarathon! #roadto2ndbmo

  • 20 strong, steady miles 🙌🏻 I felt irrationally nervous for this 20, being the second of the cycle and last big haul before race day... but it ended up being just what I needed to feel even more prepared for May 11th! We battled humidity, hills, the first shorts run of the season (hellooo chafing), and still got it done. I have loved being a part of this running team this time around too. So much love and power to you @lauratyo & @runningmomof3girls We did it!! 💪🏻💕🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏽‍♀️
