  • The river was definitely throwing a wobbly this morning so it was circuits and a run for us instead. Fingers crossed we can get on the water before Christmas.

My first week back to running after my illness was a bit mixed. I took it very easy but today I felt quite dizzy and had to sit down for a bit during the run. Which would have been quite scary if I had been on my own. I will take that as a warning and take it easy for the next 2 days.

👉🏻In June 2019 the ‘2019 State of Running’ paper was published- a pooling together of 107.9 million race results  from 70,000 event ranging from 1986 to 2018. The study was done in collaboration with the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) 👣📋

👉🏻Furthermore when looking at marathon finish time trends by gender men are continuously slowing down, with male finish times increasing by 27 minutes - from 3:48:15 to 4:15:13 (an increase of 10.8%) by 2001 and after that until 2018 it has increased on average by 7 minutes (an increase of 3%)🏃‍♂️⏱

👉🏻On the other hand, women were slowing down faster than men - from an average time of 4:18:00 in 1986 to an average of 04:56:18 in the year 2001 - a difference of 38 minutes (14.8%), but after that have actually become faster. Women's finish times have declined on average by 4 minutes (a decrease of 1.3%) 🏃‍♀️⏱
