A quick timelapse of my @samsmithworld portraiture in grayscale, palette knife in red finish. This piece took a little longer than expected - have learnt that angular precision is particularly crucial in photorealism portraits. ENJOY!
Fun fact: Sam Smith is my favourite singer song writer.
I discovered their album ‘In the Lonely Hour’ when I was in college and it truly helped me when I was having a rough time, or just needed to cry. It was the soundtrack of my entire first year of uni and each song resonates with me to this day.
Since then I’m always excited to listen to their new releases and by far, ‘How do you Sleep?’ is now my favourite song; so in dedication I made this illustration and even adapted it into a CD cover.
Personally I don’t think it does the song justice and I’m thrilled with the final outcome. (Sorry this took so long btw)
