Sunny Saturday training! Yesterday, we wrapped up escapes from negative bottom positions. For the last few weeks we’ve been learning how the same tools (bridging & bumping, framing & hip escaping, accessing leg or arm levers) can be used to escape different bad positions. Students are really starting to understand how the escapes chain together, too. This week we’ll circle back to grip fighting and guard retention for both gi and no gi. Join us on the mats for great training and a fun workout!

INTRO: On this Valentine's day/President's day long weekend, I crafted this Saturday Sweat Session by pulling together a couple exercises from various trainers and bundling them into a somewhat comprehensive full body circuit training. As you will see below, you will need a couple pieces of equipment for this, but you can easily substitute things in an out so that you can form fit it for you.
SKILL LEVEL: Varies between all 3 Levels (Beginner - Intermediate - Advanced)
- Two Feet In, Two Out (Hexagon Agility Ring) - 30 seconds
- Box Jumps - 10 Reps
- Kettlebell See Saw Press - 10 Reps Each
- Kettlebell Single Arms - 10 Reps
- Diamond Push Ups - 12-15 Reps
- Mountain Climbers - 12-15 Reps
EQUIPMENT: Hexagon Agility Ring | Box | Kettlebells
TARGET MUSCLES: Full Body
SESSION GENERAL GUIDELINES
SESSION INFO: For me, I would run through each of these exercises without any rest. Pretty much line them up and knock them down fashion. However, if you need to take a 5-15 second pause between every 2 or 3 exercises that is completely cool too. Altogether, I would say that you could run through this set of 6 exercises for about 2-4 rounds depending on how much of a sweat that you want to put yourself through.
I listed a lot of pieces of equipment for this circuit training session, but you can easily substitute them out with something similar.
Hexagon Agility Ring - SUBSTITUTION: Jump Rope or Medicine Ball Toe Taps
Box Jumps - SUBSTITUTION: Air Squats or Skater Jumps
Kettlebell - SUBSTITUTION: Dumbbells
Legs legs legs 🦵 🦵 sometimes I hate training legs cos it’s so hard , but that’s because I always push myself ! Great compound combination is squats and deadlifts. Work the full range and feel the burn 🔥 Remember the reps only count when they burn ✌🏽 #legworkout#saturdaytraining#personaltrainer
