Can’t wait to show you pics of an extra-awesome embroidery piece that has been done a while ago.

  • Our navy cotton poplin swallow print is just crying out to be made into pretty summer tops and dresses...with the summer fast approaching this is becoming increasingly popular ☀️ We are unable to order any more of this fabric, so get it while you can!

  • Plan ahead!

I’m out quite a bit this summer. The staff will be in the shop, but I’ve given them the okay to turn down rush work or anything really complicated While I’m gone. - Mia #sew #sewing #tailor #seamstress

  • Hi friends! I just started a new job (thank you, Lord!) so here is the first little project I have been able to finish since! Hair combs seem to work really well in my own hair and they are a lot of fun to make. Still got more projects lined up, so once I figure out my groove I’ll be off and running. :)

  • No more wedgies! ... And a bit of a rant!
Here is the thing...how much money have you wasted trying to find yourself comfy underwear? I am guessing a fair bit. Yes, I know at $25 a pop for a pair of ladies underwear that is alot. But is it really? They are comfy, they are fun, they are made from organic cotton spandex (full disclosure, bands are regular great quality cotton spandex- not organic but the prints...they are organic). You know what though? It's more than that. ✨They are made by me from start to finish. They are great quality.
✨I spend hours creating and checking it is all as perfect as can be.
✨They are not produced in a sweat shop that under pays their staff. ✨They are produced right here on the Sunshine Coast, in my home. Not in an overseas factory. And the conditions aren't bad (ok sometimes a little messy 🤣 but not bad)
✨They are sewn with care and made to last=less environmental impact.
✨They are made to order or made in very small batches so I am not mass producing or contributing to the mass production of garments just for the sake of it. ✨I support other small businesses when I purchase my patterns, fabrics and supplies. Because enough of supporting big brands and well advertised companies. Let's support the little guys! ✨I truly love what I do and I truly just want my customers to love what I make.
✨Does your big brand company do all of that?
And look I am not jumping on the ethically made and produced bandwagon and I am not saying I am perfect because we all have a budget and I opt for cheaper things too sometimes. But I am trying...trying to be more conscious of my choices. Trying to buy well, buy once. I try to buy only what I need not all that I want. I try to shop and support small business. I try to make new choices or better choices or even just different choices. Bit by bit...little by little. So I know it's a bit pricey to buy handmade sometimes...but please still consider handmade. Start with just one item. Doesn't even need to be from me. There are some amazing and super talented creatives in this world that deserve to shine! Even if at first it seems expensive. It really is some pretty good bang for ya buck 😜
