“As a former pollinator biologist and pastry chef, my love for the plant world extends beyond the realm of herbalism and into the kitchen and garden as well. I thrive in the space where the art and science of herbalism meet and approach my clients and community from this place. I like to share the tradition of herbalism in a way that makes plant medicine fun, easy, and approachable for use in our homes and the greater world.”⠀

“As an herbalist I strive to meet my clients where they are and work to find ways to make herbalism accessible, relatable, and affordable to all who wish to utilize it. I practice in the same town I grew up in, and feel grateful to be able to share the time-honored tradition of herbalism with my community.”⠀

Where do you see a need for activism and health justice work within herbalism and holistic medicine? ⠀

“In all the places where it isn’t common or accessible. We focus too much of our time approaching communities who already know and love herbalism, the real activism is in moving outside of our comfort zones and into places where the work is needed.”⠀

  • #summerharvest at #lumbbank #kitchengarden today. Enjoying the abundance from the top quality seeds from @realseeds - abundant Fava Beans a new find for me, and definitely one to repeat - especially with their name Wizard Beans! 🌱💚 Also pictured, the gorgeous flashback #marigold with sexy colouring jazzing up the salads and soon to be tea blend I am working on for later in the season...saving seeds where I can, honouring the ancient varieties and keeping them in circulation. Here also is a perennial chilli plant I kept alive over winter, happily thriving with loads of chillies forming. Their variety is #albertoslocoto - so looking forward to seeing what the kitchen come up with.

Also some happy pollinator friends enjoying Oxeye Daisies in the sun and pickling cucumbers ready in the polytunnel. 🌟
After some holiday and rest time of late, plus some work away, I've enjoyed landing back into the garden and ready for some grounding routines...ideas, words, poetry, visions are all percolating from the summer. Along with some serious grief and rage at the burning Amazon fires, the call to Rise and deliver regenerative work and healing is loud...stepping gently into this overwhelm and intensity, with my plant friends as grounding, nourishing, soul-lifting and medicinal allies. More to come... re-visioning the #sacredactivism road ahead and doing some blog preparations and web overhaul very soon. Just basking in sun and soil and bee buzz love for now...

  • Ok - I admit I have not had this (yet) as I am currently abroad but look at this wonderous grouse dish from @peartreeatgreenlandplace !!! Seasonal grouse - I mean what’s not to love? (Unless you are vegetarian of course - in which case look away now). Grouse in SE16 - this has got to be worth a try if you like game. I shamelessly stole the photo from @peartreeatgreenlandplace 😛🤩
