  • As much as I love autumn’s warm colors, I couldn’t help falling for these pretty blue delphiniums at my local flower market this weekend! The white and yellow flowers are from my garden. I’m not exactly sure what they are. Will need to ask the hubby - he planted them!

  • Amazing how the garden keeps on giving even at this time of year. The season may have changed but there is still so much to use! Here Abelia grandiflora is tangled with faded geranium foliage, The final Rudbeckias which managed to hide from the frost, seed heads, grasses, highly coloured Hydrangeas and Chocolate Cosmos and Chrysanths from the greenhouse! One of my favourite colour palettes! Friday already. Have a great weekend everyone x #flowersmakemehappy #cuttinggarden #seasonalshift #floralcenterpiece

  • Is it too soon to miss those golden autumn days? I feel like it should have lasted just a tad bit longer 🍂🍁 What should have also lasted longer is our ability to fight off cold and flu germs - this month has been really rough 🤮🤧😷🤒 Kids do pick up the worst germs at kindergarten. If you have any amazing home remedies to fight off a cold/ flu quickly or to not get it in the first place (I.e anything that boosts your immune system) I’m all ears. ☺️

  • I obviously have this thing about pumpkins. They grow in such wonderful organic shapes, their colors are a gorgeously delicious palette of pale blues, chalky whites, lovely pinks & of course fabulous orange. (& so many more) They are a pleasure to hold, a satisfying weight as I carry them to my stoop. It’s the same ritual every autumn & it’s always welcome.

  • True belonging.
doTERRA Essential Oils allow me to connect and create true belonging with myself 😍. True belonging is when you accept yourself one hundred and ten percent. It is not about having a gazillion followers or friends. It is taking a deep inhale of an oil you love and arriving in the moment. It is about putting something beautiful and uplifting in your diffuser and being with your family. It is about owning your magic and beauty. It is about knowing that you are enough and everything you need is within you. I use and share these oils because I have seen the shift in my inner world, I have seen the impact these oils have on my customers lives and the power they have when women decide and take their health and wellness into their own hands.
When women are empowered with essential oils they find the solutions that best fit and meet them where they are. This is where healing begins. This then creates FREEDOM and JOY.

ps the dōterra oil effect is real. In a collection of studies, a Roseman University research team observed “The Oil Effect”: that the dōTERRA essential oils tested have therapeutically-relevant cellular effects in many physiological, scientifically-validated research models. They also observed that the effects of dōTERRA essential oils were not replicated by administration of individual components within the oil itself, suggesting that the biological effects of dōTERRA essential oils are a property of the whole oil.

  • Some Hokie-color tulips on a cloudy day.🌷
.
.
Пока все празднуют американскую пасху, нам наконец удалось выкрасть выходной без дождя и похайкать, и погулять. Все сады в цвету.🌷
Нравится, что тюльпаны по всему городу оранжевые и бордовые - цвета нашего универа.

  • Wishing you Easter blessings wherever you are. Thinking of everyone in Sri Lanka and everyone affected by this mindless terrorism 💔
Get outside today if you can. Look for the helpers. Look for the good in the world. Hold your loved ones close. Tell them you love them.

  • If you were anywhere near the vicinity of Reed’s Lake tonight it’s very likely you heard a toddler screaming bloody murder from about 6:30-6:45. No, she wasn’t being kidnapped, I just wouldn’t let her go down the slide until after my run.

It got pretty ugly— snot all over her nose, tears streaming down her red cheeks, her body contorting in the stroller trying to escape the buckle holding her in. Strangers smiled as they passed, nodding in solidarity that they too had been there. I made it 1.5 miles trying to calm her as I ran, seriously contemplating just ignoring it and continuing on.

I finally stopped at a bench and immediately Willow reached for me. I unbuckled her and she snuggled herself into my body, instantly calmed from my embrace. I held her tight, sitting still for the first time all day. I felt myself leaning into the Lord just like Willow leaned into me, seeking refuge in his embrace in the same, childish way. I was so tired, not from my run, but just from life— from being needed and demanded in so many ways from so many people.

I felt myself physically relax, a weight quite literally lifted from my shoulders. “You don’t have to run, sweet child,” I heard Him say. “You don’t have to strive and work and push and perfect. Just sit with me.” I fought tears as I sat with my girl, apologizing for not stopping to comfort her and work through her frustration with her. I apologized for pushing through instead of pressing in. “I fowgive you mama,” she said.

We got up and walked back to the car, a long and slow (very, very slow 😉) 1.5 miles spent holding hands, resting in the grace that it is finished. That we don’t have to strive, we don’t have to push and pull and force and bend. We just have to be and receive and it is ALWAYS ENOUGH.

Buon pomeriggio, alice

  • Preview Video! Hi friends, I am hosting a floral workshop on Thursday, April 25th at Outdoor Design and Living from 6:30-8:00pm. This video is a little preview of the types of flowers and vessel that we will be using to create a gorgeous arrangement. The class is $89.00 and includes a short lecture (the good kind 😂) on how to select, prepare and condition store bought flowers and then a fun hands on workshop where I will lead you step by step in the art of floral design. All materials and tools are provided! We’ll have bubbly but you can bring your own wine. A direct link to sign up is in my profile. Tag a friend who loves flowers!
