Managed to catch the special edition of the Sentosa Merlion’s video, light and sound show for the last time before it closes which happened four times nightly at 7.45 pm, 8.20 pm, 8.55 pm and 9.30 pm.
A last shot of the 37-metre Sentosa Merlion statue designed by Australian sculptor James Martin which was the one of seven largest in Singapore that was opened in 1995 was being taken for a memory before saying goodbye to make way for the new themed linkway between the north and south shores of the Sentosa-Brani project.
The demolition of the Merlion is part of long term plans to reshape the resort island and the adjacent Pulau Brani into a premier leisure and tourism destination.
The last day of operations will be on 20 October 2019 and the four eateries and shop will close progressively from 21 October 2019.

Initial plan on this Saturday morning: join park run at west coast park with my running buddies, but I live in the East, I spent much time having shower before the run : east to the west I can’t make it by 7.30am arrived at the venue. Then I decided to run alone from my ‘territory’ to Sentosa island. First plan: I want to do LDR but when I checked my Garmin I ran pace 5 & got my new 5KM PB, whoa.. what an achievement!! okay today Just make it 10km now. I dont want to get injured because I’ll join a Half Marathon in 2 weeks, then Standard chartered Marathon in 6 weeks. I don’t know whether it’s real or my GPS is not error I still can’t believe I can run at pace 5 something / km in one year of training, I hope in real race I can run as fast as my training, but for me training vs the race is different. From pressure, mental and dealing with other runners on the race course that sometimes we get tired just to see the crowd. Quite happy this Saturday morning, I could get my new Pb for 5 and 10km, and steady pace 5 something /km for at least 5km That’s an achievement for me 🙏😂🏃♀️. Still need to practice my endurance , according to the math calculation if you can complete 10km in 55mins, you might finish 42km in sub 4 hours. But Marathon is unlike that, especially from an amateur like me, there will drama I will encounter along the way, the urge to go to toilet because you will experience a constant bowel movement, muscle issues from cramp, sore.. out of breath and fatigue
Day 242: We brought Fayth to see the Merlion for the first and last time but she fell asleep as we ascended to the top floor. So Mummy decided to bring home a “Merbear” for Fayth. Little Peanut had a great time at the @seaaquarium.sg. A young girl was playing peekaboo and sang “Baby Shark” to Fayth.
The 2019 T20 World Cup Qualifier kicked off with Singapore and the Netherlands emerging as winners of the first Group A matches. Singapore registered an upset win over Scotland in a last ball thriller. In the first match, Scotland won the toss and elected to field first. Singapore lost 2 early wickets. However, Aritra Dutta's breezy 32 runs gave time for Surendran Chandramohan to play a solid innings. Chandramohan went on to score 51 runs and Janak Prakash's short cameo of 20 runs ensured that Singapore finished with 168/6 in 20 overs. Meanwhile, Scotland's George Munsey was the key aggressor as he raced to 46 runs before he was dismissed by Sidhant Singh. Janak Prakash sustained a bleeding wound after being hit just above the right eye. However, He bandaged his injury and continued to play bravely. Selladore Vijayakumar slowed down Scotland's runchase as he claimed 3 wickets and conceded just 16 runs. However, Calum MacLeod was still in the crease looking to bring Scotland victorious. With 8 runs needed off the last over. Singapore Captain Amjad Mahboob dismissed Calum MacLeod off the 3rd ball. Thus, Scotland were restricted to 166/9 in 20 overs as Singapore claimed a 2 run victory. Meanwhile, The Netherlands won the toss and elected to bat first. Good batting contributions from the Dutch Batsmen including Max O'Dwod's 53 runs helped them finish at 166/4 in 20 overs. Kenya's star batsman Collins Obuya smashed 63 runs. Without much support, Kenya eventually crumbled to 136/8 in 20 overs. Paul Van Meekeren was the Netherlands' best bowler as he claimed 3 wickets and had good backing up from other bowlers to restrict Kenya in a 30 run victory. #singapore , #scotland , #kenya , #netherlands , #glasgow , #edinburgh , #nairobi , #amsterdam , #thehague , #rotterdam , #sentosa , #kallang , #changi , #padang , #chinatownsingapore , #littleindia , #merlion , #balestierroad , #jurong , #cricket , #singaporecricket , #taiseng , #sembawang , #kenyacricket , #netherlandscricket , #scotlandcricket
