I’m not @scottspeelman when It comes to welding aluminum, but with a little help from his phone call yesterday I was able to complete this #sheetmetal#intakemanifold I’m going to tell you a short story. Last month I ordered an Intercooler core. I welded it up, pressure checked it and than welded it into intake 1. It leaked, and the manifold identical to this one was junk. Order new flanges, new core, new sheetmetal from Laser and start over. I welded tanks on new core, they leaked. I cut off the tanks fixed the core and made an Intercooler that didn’t leak. Yesterday I finished welding up my intake, the last piece needed before putting the #milluondollardiesel back together. It took me almost a month to build an intake.... here’s the lessons, the first one is if you commit to something sometimes you have to stay the course for your own sense of accomplishment, never give up they say. The second is you need to know when to throw in the towel on something if there is a solution. Yesterday I called scott and told him I’d like to start sending him my aluminum creations for him to weld up. Pride can be dangerous, I can’t afford to waste time so I made a deal with myself that if this one leaked I’d accept defeat and let someone else do what they do best in favor of sticking to what you’re good at. It’s tough for me to not be the best at every aspect of this stuff but truthfully I’m not great at aluminum. This will do for now, if it works well I’ll make a third one and send it up to scott so it can look as good as the rest of the truck. Here’s the deal, focus all of your time and energy to the things you shine at, whoever said focus on your weaknesses is an idiot. No need to waste time being average at all of it when you can be great at some of it. On another note how about all that plumbing, hope it doesn’t have a bunch of lag...🌪🌪🌪🔥🔥🔥

So I've been doing a women's program since March 11th. It's been pretty interesting so far. Got to try out carpentry, auto tech and sheet metal so far. Next week is collision repair.
Feeling super exhausted though and can't wait to be done and have some needed rest/a vacation. #okanagan#okanagancollege#trades#sheetmetal#carpentry#autotech
