• BY HIS WOUNDS YOU HAVE BEEN HEALED | 1 Peter 2:23-24 •
The heaviness of what the crucifixion actually is really fell on me in a new way this Easter week. It was my sin that put Him there. Every excruciating moment, every mocking jeer, every lash of a whip... it all may as well have come from me. That thought will really eat at you if you sit on it for a while. I think it’s important that we let it sit there, not every moment of every day so we’re depressing to be around, but enough to bring you to the end of yourself. To find freedom in the fact that this sacrifice was SO great, that there was NO WAY we ever could have paid the debt that He fulfilled, and that no matter how hard we continue to try, our efforts do so do nothing but tire us out.
For BY HIS WOUNDS WE ARE HEALED. By the lashes, by the mockery, by the nails in His body, by the all encompassing trauma that was placed upon him that day, BY THAT we are healed. We find freedom in His blood, we find a life full of such a rich abundance of Love that even when we think we can comprehend it we realize that we’re not even scratching the surface. On Easter we don’t just celebrate the fact that the Resurrection happened, we celebrate the fact that He is RISEN, and the implications of the fact that he is risen right now...They are paradigm shattering, life giving, life altering truths. And THAT is very very good news :)
Last night in the club house. It’s been dissembled and taken to the dump. There has been lots of bubble blowing and hide and seek games in this shanty. Goodbye Fort Glow, you shall be missed. #clubhouse#forthouse#fortglow
Hope everyone had a happy easter! Here are some shots of my bleeding hearts that just bloomed! I also used my X10 close up filter for the first time so you can see the side by side if you swipe. I’m going to be posting the rest of my macro shots using my X4 filter because the X10 one just has a really tiny focus range. (I know these images don’t really match Easter that well, so HAPPY EARTH DAY 🌍).
