  • Do you remove your makeup every single day? Be honest!
.
.
🧖‍♀️ Skincare Tip of The Day🧖‍♀️
.
.
Contaminants that are retained in the skin by not properly removing makeup before bed can penetrate through the pores and cause premature deterioration of collagen and elastin. .

This increases sagging and leads to the development of fine wrinkles, fine lines and other signs of aging. Isn’t the point of wearing makeup to make you look younger, conceal imperfections and/or make you feel good about yourself? If premature wrinkles appear, you’re not going to be happy and will end up wanting #dermaroller treatments or other #facialrejuvenation. .

Sleeping in makeup can also cause acne, dry skin and a loss of skin's natural brightness.

Many of these issues can be prevented by simply removing makeup every evening. Try to make it a habit to ensure you go to bed with a clean face nightly. If you don't have a #skincareregimen it's time to start. If you’re used to sleeping in makeup, now is the time to correct it before any damage to your skin happens.

  • I love sleep masks but I don't actually own that many of them.
I use them about twice a week, and this one works just as well as my others, no better, no worse.
This one retails for $62 which I think is a little high, especially since the top ingredients are pretty standard. It does have some good ingredients a little further down the list though, including algae, fig extract, and one of my favorites, centella asiatica!
Ultimately, I'd be interested in trying more from this brand, especially because I've never heard of them before purchasing this product.

  • Dermatologists, sunscreen manufacturers, magazines, TV, and your GP are constantly heard saying, "if you spend time in the sun, you need to slather on sunscreen". They have made it their mission to convince the world that sun exposure causes cancer. Well it's just not true - sunlight is not the primary cause of skin cancer. In fact, sunlight prevents cancer.

Whilst you don't want to get a blistering sunburn, commercial sunscreens are a toxic concoction of cancer-causing chemicals and endocrine disruptors damaging the heart and liver. And research published in the May 2017 issue of The Journal of the American Osteopathic Association revealed that using sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or more reduces your body’s ability to make vitamin D by 99% - sunshine is your best source of vitamin D.
If you stop that natural process, you run into all kinds of problems…

Evidence shows that lack of vitamin D can cause cancers, including the deadly cancer – melanoma. In addition to melanoma, there are at least 13 other cancers that seem to be positively affected by sunlight including breast cancer, colon cancer, and ovarian cancer.
Dr. Daniel Coit, surgical oncologist shared his research on melanoma at a 2012 MSKCC Health Education Seminar, clearing up myths regarding melanoma. He found that sunlight does NOT cause melanoma and therefore sunblock or avoiding sun exposure does not prevent melanoma.
A review done in 2002 showed there was a significant increase in malignant melanoma with sunscreen use.
Another study by a Dr. William B. Grant, PhD, epidemiologist, found that UVB reduces the risk of 16 types of cancer.

If sunscreen did prevent skin cancer, we would have
seen a rapid decline in rates. Instead, the rates are rising.

The best sunscreen is in your kitchen. Consuming a diet rich in antioxidants and eating plenty of chlorophyll-rich green vegetables and unprocessed foods provide the body with an abundance of
powerful nutrients that will help you fight free radicals and help prevent sunburn.

  • Vedaskinworkethic: Sun is out, Skinpen® is out 😉. It was my pleasure to start @jackie_bizzle on her Vedaskin® journey this morning where we gushed over what to expect from collagen induction therapy. Her goals; improve skin tone and texture and begin to address and maintain a youthful and healthy glow. Her bespoke microneedling regimen entailed varying depths to achieve this end result which is spot on. Theres nothing quite like a client leaving with a smooth and even result. I cant wait to see her through the coming months and establish a maintenance endpoint.

A quick snapshot of what you need to know when considering Skinpen® treatment:
🕧 it can take between one hour-one hour 30 minutes (the latter applies to the Vedaskin®-Naya treatment)
ℹ Down time - up to 48 hours
ℹ Anaesthetic - applied to the skin for 30 minutes ⚠ Caution period - first 24 hours post treatment. All clients are given detailed post treatment care advice 👷
ℹ Recovery - estimated 24-48 hours
ℹ When will I notice an effect? Recovery begins immediately with our immune system naturally responding to the treatment. Collagen remodelling kicks in after 24 hours and peaks at day 30
ℹ How long does it last? Under the microscope effects seen to continue up to one year
❗Side effects - redness is expected and desired but usually settles within 24- 48 hours

  • There’s “sick care” and then there’s health care. KNOW THE DIFFERENCE!!!⁣
⁣
The foundation of modern medicine is based on providing a temporary bandaid to any known disease or disorder. Rather than finding the root cause, modern medicine provides the sick care method of treatment. By prescribing suppression and temporary relief. Utilizing what’s quick and potential to be toxic instead of what’s longer, safer, and less harmful to the body.⁣
⁣
Naturopathic medicine identifies the root cause. Using a true approach to healthcare and providing a treatment that is both permanent and effective. By assessing the person and body as a whole and utilizing the body’s innate healing process & equipped pharmacy.⁣
⁣
Modifiable diet & lifestyle changes are both a stepping stone in promoting and providing optimal and sustainable health to the individual. ⁣
⁣
Do you know the difference?!⁣

  • Learning to love yourself when you have acne can be tough. I’ve been struggling on and off with acne for YEARS.😧
I’ve learned that many things irritate my skin, and my skin is very sensitive to chemicals, the food I eat and the products I use.
Lately, my face hasn’t been happy and I’ve been breaking out more than usual. I try to stay positive and I’m not nearly as hard on myself as I was once upon a time when it came to my acne. I used to tell myself I’m ugly, stress about it to the point where I would be so anxious to leave the house as well as covering my face up with full coverage make up.😶
Now, I tell myself that I am beautiful regardless of what is on my face. Acne is normal, it happens to everyone. Sometimes people get one or two, sometimes people get 20-30 breakouts but it’s NORMAL.
If someone wants to judge you for what’s on your face or what you look like, that’s their problem.
As much as I used to tell myself everyone was staring at me, judging me, etc. I now know that I am my own worst critic.
Nobody is looking at your face as closely as you do. Nobody is thinking about the negative things you’re thinking about.
As hard as it was to accept that, I can now go out in public with breakouts and acne and not feel incredibly anxious and not be able to look anyone in the eye in fear of being judged. It took a very long time to get to this point but I’m here and that’s what matters.
You’re beautiful, no matter what is happening to your skin. Acne, eczema, psoriasis, whatever it is. You’re not any different because of what’s happening on your skin.✨
