  • Not a fab week to start my next 12 weeks of weight loss but weighing last week was just near impossible with a session being either many miles away and the second chance I slept straight through the alarm 😩 this week I missed Monday weigh in due to train travel being delayed so I’m hoping to weigh at a difffernt group on Thursday then back to my normal Monday group next week 💪🏼 I’m expecting a gain from the little piggy I turned into over Easter weekend but oh well I’ve done it now all I can do is loose it 🐷

  • After receiving a lot of Questions in DMs on why Push, Pull , Legs is better than training a single muscle once a week, I decided to make a post on it.

But first - What is training Frequency? .
.
It is the number of times a given body part is trained in a week. .
.
This means, in the routines  like Chest, Back, Biceps, Triceps, Legs, etc. , You only train a Chest and other parts once a week.
.
.
A question to you - Would you train your biceps only once a week if they're your weak points?
.
.
I have enlisted the demerits of Training a body part once a week. Merits of Training more than once are:
.
✔️Better Skill and more Practice - If you want to be better at something, it makes sense to  practice it repeatedly . .
.
Just like you become better at any sport  practising it every day.
.
The same concept applies to the movements in the Gym. Our mind becomes better in synchronising all muscles and eventually performing better on a particular exercise.
.
. ✔️Effectiveness of Workouts -
As the workout progresses , we start to get tired and hence the performance drops. We get to perform less sets and reps when we are tired. .
.
Doing less but quality work each time and coming to the gym fresh prevents this problem.
.
.
✔️ Increased Muscle Protein Synthesis ( MPS) = More Growth
If you haven't heard this term, note this. More MPS means more Gainz in simple terms.
.
After a training session, our MPS gets elevated and remains elevated for around 48 hours and then returns back.
.
Training muscle more than once a week will elevate the MPS again and hence it makes sense to train a muscle multiple times a week.
.
.
✔️Reduces Soreness - Training a muscle more frequently also reduces the soreness (DOMS) you receive after a workout. Our muscles adapt to the stress if we perform the lifts multiple times.
.
.
✔️Better Recovery - When the Sets, Reps are distributed throughout the week, we will be able to recover better. .
.
We can even train a muscle for 3-4 times a week if it's a weak point and can recover Quickly. E.g. Biceps , Triceps, Rear Delts, Calfs. 
Keep in mind that these muscles also get worked while hitting Bigger muscles like Chest, Back and Legs.

  • Breakfast after body combat was pretty boring 2 quorn burgers (0.5 syns each) 1 slice kingsmill crustless wholemeal ( 1/3 Hex) scrambled egg and tbsp on tomatoe sauce ( 1 syn ) 
Lunch was the other part of my Hex b 2 slices kingsmill crustless wholemeal and creamy garlic mushrooms 👌🏻 Also scoffed a brioche roll whilst making up the other half’s lunch earlier 6.5 syns n it was tiny 😱😱😱 #slimmingworldjourney #slimmingworldmafia #slimmingworld #slimmingworlduk #swinstafamily
