My first thoughts this morning were: SNOW DAY ❄️ the roads will be bad, I can skip the gym!!
As I laid there for a minute longer I thought to myself, ‘if I don’t go to the gym I’m going to feel like 💩 and will regret it’
Just like brushing your teeth everyyy morning, we must stick to our routine because it fosters habits that match our goals. Why do we brush our teeth? So our teeth stay strong and healthy, so we don’t have bad breath or that nasty taste in our mouth
You don’t wake up thinking ‘ugh I have to brush my teeth today.’ That’s because we’re creatures of habit. We brush our teeth, shower, brush our hair, check our phone, put clothes on, make a cup of coffee, watch the news... most of us do these habits unknowingly because it’s our comfortable, daily routine
If I allowed myself to skip the gym today, maybe tomorrow I’ll say that I’ll skip and go on Monday... then Monday becomes Wednesday and then it’s Thursday and I’ve come up with every excuse possible and missed an entire week. Am I going to get the results I want by not going? I think you know the answer to that...
There’s good habits and there’s bad habits. Look at your daily routine. What you do everyday by force of habit, is it getting you closer to what you want?
The gym may not be your goal; it could be making more money, providing for your family, building for your future, getting a job, finding your career... whatever it is that you want, make sure your daily habits are helping you and not hindering you
I have many daily habits, one of them being the gym. I know that in order to help others, I must first be able to help myself. So rather than disappointing myself and skipping the gym, I got up, put my snow boots on and hit the road
It’s so much easier to fall back into comfort than it is to push yourself for greatness. So remind yourself daily why you do what you do and your daily habits will get you closer to whatever it is you want in life 🙌🏻
