  • Can you say “How are you?👋🏼” in Korean? This expression is spoken over and over many times during a day when meeting people around you. 🤗 However, I could see many Korean learners are not familiar with how to say this greeting or its alternatives. Let’s learn here and please say those to your friends with variations. 👫
⠀
I made a post about this topic before but wanted to share more details about it. 🔥
⠀
My last question was “밥 먹었어요? 🍚”(I think I asked a similar question before, but would love to ask you again because I care about your well-being and health.)
⠀

  • Lotte World Tower 🌁

뒷좌석에서는 몸 가만히 못 두고 계속 부스럭부스럭;
⠀

  • A visit to Seoul is not complete without Gwangjang Market. It is one of the ultimate places to experience traditional Korean street food and culture all under one roof. This market offers abundance of authentic traditional food at the ground floor while the first floor offers wide selection of silk, hanbok (Korean traditional outfit), bedding and home furnishings.
.
First established in 1905, it is known to be the oldest market in South Korea. The market retains its style, heritage and charm until this day.
.
Sharing with you some of the must try Korean food (4th and 5th pictures were taken at Gwanjang Market): Bibimbap (Korean mixed rice with colourful vegetables, normally served with chicken or beef); tteokbokki (rice rolls in kimchi sauce); Budae-jjigae or army base stew (pretty much influenced by the Americans during the Korean War with the introduction of sausage and spam); Dak-galbi (spicy stir fried chicken); Samgye-tang (ginseng chicken soup stuffed with rice); Korean style barbecue with colourful banchan (side dishes); Korean fried chicken paired with Soju, the Korean variation of vodka traditionally made from rice.
.
The most important dish in the Korean cuisine is kimchi, a salted and fermented dish made of napa cabbage - spicy, sour and salty. It may not suit everyone’s tastebud so it’s either you love it or hate it.
.
Best way to enjoy a good and authentic meal is to join the locals on the bench at Gwangjang Market. Language barrier? Just point at what your neighbour is eating. The local knows best!
.
Having enjoyed Korean culinary experience to the fullest, I wouldn’t mind the extra inches gained from this trip. Do you prefer to dine like a local or places that are meant mostly for tourists?
.
Annyeong, Seoul! Till we meet again. New destination (continent) will be revealed tomorrow so stay tuned!
